Pros: Great location on the beach, nice pools. Extremely clean every square inch of the resort, very friendly staff. Cons: food was extremely disappointing. Riu's we stayed at previously was phenomenal. This location had bad reviews but didn't pay attention to them because we thought people were just picky. Not the case at all, and food was cold. Even under warming lights, meats, pasta's, and seafoods were disgusting how cold they were. One night steak was raw and they were pulling it off buffet and placing back on the grill. Only hot food was at the grill by the pool, and was the only appealing meals we had during the week. Rooms are not meant for families with teen/preteen. Beds were way too small and hard. Our eoom was directly above air system for resort and very loud, and not even relaxing sitting on balcony. Will not be back to this resort.

Best food, friendly staff, clean! Rooms are not what you expect though. Compleat lack of privacy. Shower, jacuzzi and sinks next to the beds( no door). Toilet was the only thing separated by door but doesn't have aspiration. The bathroom smells go to the room. The shower has a glass door. That was junior sweet. I would definitely go back there but only if they have different rooms. The rest of it is really high end.

I loved my stay here! I had a lot of fun at the pool, the entertainment staff were amazing and so much fun, and the pool food/drink service was really good! Some downsides were: I thought the Las Olas dining hall was very loud, it's a big room with hard surfaces, and the noise from the buffet echoes through the area. I also saw a cockroach on my dining table in the Japanese restaurant, I moved tables after that but it wasn't a pleasant experience. That being said, I understand it is an open-style hotel, but it was off-putting during the meal. The rooms are also a bit dated, but they are large rooms with plenty of space, and the view overlooking the pool/beach is fantastic. You can also go visit the other RIU resorts, and the Caribe is next door for those who like to party. Overall the stay was great, our room got upgraded and we got to eat at the restaurant in the villas, and the experience there was much better! The service here is really good, I thought it was great value for a last-minute booking. I would definitely recommend going here if you're on a budget and enjoy spending time by the pool and beach. Another thing I liked is that this place does not do reservations for dining, first come first serve and there are several decent options!
