Everything was perfect. Will be recommending to all my friends. Note: we checked out the other nearby Riu properties and they were not nearly as nice as this location. Apparently, the Palace Riu's are the best!

Staff was very friendly, rooms were clean, resort keep spotless. We plan on visiting again soon. The only downfall was trying to book for dinner, there are a number of restaurants that are first come first serve, however they start taking booking at 6:00 and even if tables are empty you have to wait for them to call you.

For the very affordable price of this hotel and if you are there for a good party it is a good choice. The rooms are very run down and the beds were uncomfortable. There are blankets in the closet if you need them but they smelled of mildew and were very old and worn. My biggest concern was the fact that the sliding door on the balcony does not lock. It is possible for anyone in neighboring rooms to access your rooms. The location was excellent. The staff was efficient but not the friendliest. I heard from other people there the parties were excellent and there was no lack of alcohol. If I were to come back, it would not be for relaxation but for a girls trip or celebration. I do think a simple lock on the balcony doors like other hotels would be a welcome addition.

I really enjoyed my stay at Riu Las Americas. The room was very nice. Only complaint is you couldn’t turn the temperature on the thermostat. The room would get very warm in the afternoon. The grounds were really nice and the main pool was really upbeat. The food was amazing, with lots of restaurants to choose from. The staff was great, friendly and welcoming. My only complaint was that when I booked my room on Expedia it said that I would get a $850 USD resort credit. This is a big lie!!! What you get are coupons for $15 off a massage or $10 dollars off something else. Even if I added up all the coupons that were available, it didn’t even come close to $850. Don’t advertise that you get a $850 credit if that’s not the case. That was really disappointing. Other than that I highly recommend staying here.

Rooms are ancient - not enough electricity sockets and you can forget about things like USBC. Smell is terrible in the rooms and requires opening windows frequently. We had to change rooms twice due to plumbing issues. Overall, seems it was not repaired since late 90s

Excellent service from the staff, excellent options for food in the buffet and walkable are to clubs, restaurants and stores. Although we had a problem in our room with water liking from the roof, but staff was able to change our room to a better one. Recommended!

entertainment staff was just OK compared to another hotel I stay at. Beach is beautiful & calm, no huge crashing waves as down the road closer to airport...dining options are nice as u can just walk in w/o reservation...rooms are nice. overall a solid 4..maybe 4.5....and i go to cancun every 3 months. i'd go again to relax, but if you want more night life/fun...not sure of that!

I have stayed here several times and although I’m supposed to be Expedia premium I never get any perks. I had to pay for a room upgrade which was a bad experience as the fridge and ac in the room was really loud. Several other guests also told me about their noisy fridges. It was too much hassle to move room again. Gym is really old, treadmills not working properly and limited weights. Bar staff by busy pool are rude. Guy who brings drinks to you keeps forgetting to bring the order. I will not be back. I do like Riu, there’s a new one in construction in Cancun so I will wait for that to open.

The staff, service, entertainment, food, facilities, and activities were great! They gave me champagne and chocolate strawberries for my birthday. Staff was everywhere all the time cleaning, serving drinks, smiling, being helpful... l loved the daily exercise options, especially since the drinks flowed nonstop. I did step, poolside, and aquatic aerobics, and yoga...and drank! I have cruised numerous times. The nightly entertainment surpassed typical ship quality. AND, the Riu, themed pool parties several times a week were too much fun! The beach was clean. It was just lovely. Now, update the gym equipment for us health-conscious partiers and this will resemble paridise.
