We loved it. Ashley at reception was so professional, nice and friendly. Loved the room as well even though there was some construction outside, but it’s a good sign. The city is recovering from Katrina and this is a long process. Will back to this hotel for our next trip Thank you guys!!!!

This is NOT a pet friendly hotel

This hotel was specifically chosen, due to it supposedly being a pet friendly hotel. After paying an extra 150 to have our travel companion with us, we were informed we could not leave our pet unattended in our room. Our golden is accustomed to traveling with us. She is not an incessant barker; however, if other guests our being loud outside of our room, she will indeed bark- go figure. We were in on Christmas Eve to attend the Saints/Falcons game, and almost couldn’t make the game due to having to find a doggie daycare last minute, on a Sunday Christmas Eve. Imagine what that must have taken to make happen. This hotel, expects their guests, to literally stay in the room at all times with their pets. It was truly a horrible experience because we missed all of our plans for the night before, due to the manager reprimanding us, for leaving her for an hour to have dinner. Do not stay here if you have a pet with you. We have stayed at countless other properties in the city, and this has truly never happened to us. The manager was completely inflexible, and lacked compassion and proper communication skills. All she wanted to do, was show us a piece of paper with their pet policy on it. Not to mention, on that very pet policy she insisted on showing us, it specifically said the pet floor was floor 7, and they had us on floor 11. I suppose this was our fault as well. Literally, almost ruined our entire trip.

Hello J, Thank you for choosing the InterContinental New Orleans and for taking the time to provide us with valuable feedback about your experience. I am sorry that you felt the hotel's pet policy is unfair and that the managements' response was less warm than expected. We wish all of our guests a peaceful and enjoyable experience at the hotel which is why we ask that you do not leave your pet unattended in the room. The hotel's concierge has many recommendations for pet care services for our guests as well. Sincerely. Erik Fabacher - Front Office Manager

Intercontinental New Orleans

This is the only hotel I stay at when I come to New Orleans, but this time around was a bit off-putting. We arrived at the hotel at 6pm (2 hours after check-in) to find that the room we had reserved was not ready. At one point we were told that they were going to put us in suite with 2 queen sized beds and it would be bigger than the room we orinigally booked but only for one night. After waiting an hour in the lobby we were told that we were being placed in a king room with a roll away bed. I'm not sure why we were told one thing for them to do something else. I've never had an issue with them before and I hope that next time they will be better prepared.

Thank you very much for your feedback. I apologize for the unusual and inconvenient circumstances surrounding your last visit. I am sure the front desk tried their best to accommodate your needs, but it seems they were unsuccessful in their attempt. I do hope that you come and see us again soon. Sincerely, Erik Fabacher

I'd stay here again

I would stay here again. The hotel's appearance is clean and well kept. The cleaning staff did miss a few things vacuuming before we arrived in our room. Their facilities are nice (gym and pool). It's in the perfect location (walking distance to Bourbon Street and other attractions). The concierge was a bit rude and acted superior but the rest of the staff was pleasant and helpful.
