Our overall stay was good. The staff was very friendly! Very convenient and walkable over to Canal Street and one block over from Bourbon, once on Canal. As other reviews said, the property is a little dated and could use upgrades. I found that our room was a little dark and gloomy. Definitely could stand to be a little brighter with better lighting. Along with upgrades, they may want to invest in noise-concealing balcony doors. You could hear everything going on outside, especially in the middle of the night.

I recently stayed two nights and the experience was exactly what I hoped for a perfect blend of comfort, culture, and New Orleans charm. The staff was very friendly and an accommodating throughout the stay from the front desk to housekeeping everyone made us feel welcome and well taken care of. This hotel offered a perfect home base for our quick trip to New Orleans. If you’re looking for a place with character, comfort and a great location near the French Quarter. Clearly a property in decline

We reserved a handicapped room for my 82 year old sister. Not only was there not a handicapped accessible shower but I was rudely told by both managers at checking that they did not have a shower chair and WOULD NOT supply one. Management took no action to resolve the issues and instead just shut down my attempts at resolution and dismissed me as an inconvenience to their self important day. In the end we bought a shower chair and donated it to the room since the Intercontinental has turned into such a NEEDY Brand. I absolutely would not recommend this hotel and I would add, STAY AWAY
