Probably one of the best boutique hotels I’ve ever had the pleasure of staying in. The staff sees to all the details of making your stay feel personal. Hand written note, box of chocolates on your bed, steamer in closet. I love the vibe. Pool was great, drinks delish and setting, perfect.
We had a wonderful stay. Keep in mind, it is NOLA and an old building, so the room is small, but very well done. Also, the pool is amazing. People are able to buy a day pass to the pool, so it was very busy one day (4th of July). Having the bar by the pool was great.
This property was exactly what we were looking for! It was just as advertised and more! Very clean, very intimate, well kept and the people were amazing. From the staff escorting us to our room for the vist viewing, to the local recommendations for activities and dining. Very low key for a relaxing adult trip, which was perfect for us.
Words will never adequately express the level of excellence achieved by this NOLA oasis. My positive experience began days before my arrival. I received a call to confirm my reservation and Jenny inquired which room might be more to my liking. What a concept! I loved it. Upon arrival, I discovered that not only had they upgraded me, but my room was also ready early. What a wonderful surprise! The Welcome chocolates, the welcome drink, the attentive staff, the pool oasis, and the overall vibe of the hotel make it my new personal favorite hotel in the country. I will definitely be back!
The hotel was beautiful, the room was clean and very comfortable. Unfortunately, the property seemed mostly focused on being a pool and bar available to those not staying at the hotel. On the Sunday and holiday Monday we visited, there were easily 20-25 visitors in the tiny pool who paid a minimum bar tab for access to the property. The pool closed at 9 so it wasn’t going on late, but was very loud while it was open-even in the rooms. The line at the poolside bar seemed to be 4-6 people deep at all times with no priority for overnight hotel guests. There are pool side loungers reserved only for overnight guests, but there were people everywhere, it was definitely a pool party not a relaxing spot to have a drink. The property needs to share this information with guests before they book. We chose this spot in the Garden District thinking it would be quieter than those in the French Quarter and offer a spot to relax rather than a party, we were wrong. The following morning, there were still piles of used pool towels, leftover cups and dirty tables all around the pool area. The staff was friendly, but not helpful. Our room wasn’t ready until an hour after published check in time and any time we asked a question at the desk we were basically told “I don’t know.” Hotels.com advertises that the hotel offers gym access at a nearby facility but we were told this isn’t the case and we should call around to see if we could find a gym that offers day passes.
I had an excellent stay at the Blackbird. Everything from the rooms, to the cocktails, to the pool were absolutely stunning. Super friendly and helpful staff. Food was great! Absolutely nothing but positive vibes!
Very unique aesthetic even for New Orleans. This place feels special. It’s conveniently located away from the French quarter but close enough to anything you’d like to get to. Street parking only which wasn’t an issue during my stay - surrounding area is residential so I wouldn’t expect this to change much. The service is what stood out most to me. Everyone went out of their way to ensure guests felt welcome and accommodated. I’d highly recommend this spot for couples or anyone looking for a unique stay outside the crowded quarter.
This place was wonderful. It’s new and stylish. Great location. The heated pool , courtyard, and foliage was beautiful and relaxing. Great staff. Comfortable beds and rooms. We loved it and will be returning!
