The decor was pleasing. The staff at the check in desk were pleasant.

Overpriced

Room was comfortable, but not clean! The couch and drapes had stains on them. There was a bug on the couch. Way overpriced!!

Plenty of space for two people

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet, separate vanity from bathroom/shower
Cons: you would need a rental car to get to pensa. beach
My husband and I were in search of an affordable hotel near Pensacola Beach to attend a wedding on July 4th, 2009. The Homewood Suites were a fantastic place to spend our weekend. Not only was our room clean, it offered plenty of space -- a separate lounging area, kitchenette, sink/vanity outside of the bathroom (so I could get ready while my husband showered). The bedding was current and not scary 70s motel-style. For such a busy weekend, the hotel was not noisy while we were in our room -- a welcome change from many hotels I've stayed at before. We rented a car at the airport to drive to and from Pensacola Beach and the drive couldn't have been more than 10 minutes. This really was a great place to stay.

Freshness of room

Air quality of the room was not the best. Supposed to be a non-smoking room but had a lingering odour of smoke.

Needs renovation

We stayed 2 nights in a 1 bedroom suite. The room was to be non smoking, someone had obvious been smoking in the room for along time, the odor never left. There was so much carpet deodorizer on the floor that it swirled around your feet when you walked. The condition of the room was very worn and dark. There was no stove in the kitchen, when I asked about the stove, I was told ""sometimes the rooms aren't exactly as described"". There was no housekeeping service to our room after the 1st night, when I inquired about that, the man behind the desk said ""oh"", and that was it, no apology, no offer to help. I had to ask for towels. Hallways and general area of the hotel has also very worn. Hotel needs to be renovated. The majority of guests staying there were cleanup crews for the EPA. Some of the staff were nice. The breakfast and evening snack were good. The pool was dirty and we could not swim in it. Overall it was way below the Hilton standard that we are used too.
