Location: Great fishing, great food, and lovely beaches.
The hotel was very busy, yet the staff, from the concierge to the front desk and the folks in the restaurant were unbelievable! Everyone was attentive and top notch, five stars across the board! Thanks!

Nice beach hotel at a reasonable price.

Pros: Rooms, beds, and reception desk servie were very good.
Cons: Pool and outdoor bar area. Old and drab.
I stayed here about 18 months ago for 5 nights and gave the hotel a decent but not great rating. In fairness, the hotel was in the middle of a rehab to rooms and public areas at the time. Rooms are very clean and the beds are unusually comfortable. The breakfast area serves very good quality items with quality Starbucks coffee. Concierge support was excellent! The pool area is still drab and the outdoor bar and longue area needs a good rehab. Hotel location is excellent for restaurant/bar hopping and sightseeing venues.

No Customer Service

Pros: The rooms were very clean.
Cons: Customer Service needs BIG improvement. They need to have some type of concern for their guests. We felt nothing from them!!!!
Location: Location is perfect.
I don't generally give negative reviews but I felt the need this time. My boyfriend and I wanted a nice weekend getaway and joined some friends in Ft. Lauderdale. I was very disappointed by the lack of customer service or concern illustrated during my visit. One of the elevators was down the entire weekend, what an inconvenience. The other two elevators took for ever and were always overcrowded. Not to mention that the elevators were so dirty, we even reported urine in one of the elevators. Service should have been mandated specially during a busy weekend. We complained about the a/c not working properly in our room and we were told that someone would come check it. No one ever came! When we checked out, the clerk asked us how our stay was and we replied not too good. He said nothing else, just continued to check his computer. We clearly opened the door for at least an apology, NOTHING! I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Location!

Pros: Location! Friendly staff. Quiet.
Cons: Pool/shower near pool, fixtures in room
Location is the best thing about this hotel. Steps away from a clean, pretty beach and close to shopping and dining. Hotel staff from check-in, to valet to Bistro staff friendly and helpful. They allowed us to check in VERY early for free which was such a pleasant surprise after a long week of travel with a little one. The pool, which was just "upgraded", looked like it needed an upgrade; however with the beach so close, we didn't really care. The shower by the pool didn't work with caused us to drag sand back into the room (felt bad for the maid). The spicket for shower in the bathroom was very loose and I felt like it might fall off. The handle for hot water to the sink took a lot of muscle to turn it on. The hair dryer looked like it has been used and abused and seemed to work at 50%. But those things were outweighed by all the positives. I would definitely stay there again.

Not what we expected for a Marriott property

Pros: The staff was courteous and more than helpful, especially the valet staff.
Cons: Travelocity should have notified us and there should have been some compensation for the money that was spent unnecessarily.
The pool was closed and no one bothered to make us aware of that beforehand. Unable to sit by the pool, we had to walk through the construction site in order to get to the beach and it cost us $42 per day to rent an umbrella and chairs. Had we known in advance, we would have opted for another hotel. Also, the elevators were apparently being worked on and we had to wait for every elevator ride, sometimes as long as 10-12 minutes. I was unable to use the stairs due to a partial military disability. The first day we returned to the room at 3:30pm and the room had not been cleaned.

It was all a facade

Pros: The view was ok
Cons: The size of the room and the amenities
Location: Food and shopping
When I looked on-line at the room, it really seemed like it was huge. Once I checked in and saw the room, I was very disappointed. There was no microwave and everything seemed like it was crammed on the room. There was no need to complain, to the staff, I do however blame Travelocity because I don't feel they were truthful in the actual size of the room.
