A friend was having her wedding reception at the hotel, so I booked a room a little over a month in advance. There was about a 10-15 minute wait, but the lobby was comfortable, and the staff and offered us each a glass of wine. When it was our turn to check in, the receptionist informed us that were were being offered a "free upgrade" to one of their bungalows. I asked what that meant, and she told us it was a sister property nearby. I told her we would like to decline the upgrade so we could stay in the hotel where the reception would be, but she told me all the rooms were full, and they were overbooked. She offered to call a driver to take us to the bungalow, but she said it would be faster to walk. She gave us directions, and off we went in the Texas heat. There were directions on the sidewalk for a little bit, but we lost the trail at an intersection. We traipsed back to the hotel and asked one of the valet attendants for directions, and his way finally got us and our puddles of sweat to our room. Now, if you look through the hotel pictures, you would be expecting a fun, themed boutique style room with lots of character. What we got was a bunch of white, boring whiteness. I've seen more character in a Best Western. After moving on to my second glass of wine, I sponge-bathed off the sweat and headed back over to the hotel for the reception. Then realized I forgot my gift and had to go back to the bungalow. Also, the bathroom wasn't super clean (see pics).

The ZaZa Experince

First Expression always say everything ... Very boutique and Cute. Check in was a little slow and if you request a upgrade room be prepare to pay. The Dragon - Fly nice but pricey and the room was nice and warm. Pool area is for the pretty people and wanna-be seen folks.

Probably would have been nice but...

After making reservations for one of their concept rooms, 2 weeks before going, I arrived only to find that they had given my room to someone else. We arrived at 8PM but had been assured by the gentleman that I made the reservation with that my credit card number would hold the room until midnight. Furthermore they were full for the night but I could come back the next day and stay if I liked. I would avoid the hotel like the plague and will in the future.

Worst Stay ever!

My husband and I stayed when we flew in from overseas for a wedding. It was the middle of June and he was not allowed to wear his $500 Italian leather sandals into the bar because they weren't ""distinguished"" enough! Come on! We had thousands of dollars worth of cash we wanted to spend having a good time in the comfort of our own hotel, but was turned away because of a pair of sandals! Why didn't they make all the tranies leave the pool earlier in the day? Lots of older - shouldn't be wearing a bikini or showing off my leather skin people trying to capture their youth were always at the pool - it was embarassing for them and I am sure none of them were actually staying at the hotel! It left no room for us to even get a seat. Under the right management, this would have been a great place to stay - but it sucked! We had to change rooms when we arrived and we had already napped on the bed - we saw them check someone else in the room while we were moving rooms...they didn't even clean it! GROSS! I will never stay here again and I advise everyone to stay away!

Great Hotel!

We spent 4 nites last Thanksgiving and loved it. We loved our room, it was very stylish and comfy and the large balcony was a delite. The weather was perfect so we enjoyed eating there for breakfast. Room service was very good for breakfast. Staff was very helpful and friendly too. Booking was no problem at all.

Zaza - horribly overrated

Hotel prides itself on a boutique experience. Customer service was poor, room needed maintenance (plumbing issues), and housekeeping was inconsistent. For that kind of money, I expect much, much better

Romantic wedding night

My husband and I spent the first two nights of our honeymoon here and absolutely loved it! Our room was wonderful and the service was great. The staff sent complimentary champagne and chocolate covered strawberries to our room once we arrived. Tip...Ask for the ""quiet"" side of the hotel.
