Pros: Really nice bed.
Cons: More ice machines.
Location: Dealey center, the museum of the Kennedy assassination is very well done.
I thought a expensive hotel would have a ice machine on more than one floor.

The Adolphus Experience

First time in Dallas & glad we stayed at at this very nice & comfy hotel. It was just a few block from The Majestic where we went to see Morrissey play. The room was very nice, comfortable bed, clean bathroom, great closet with mirror, mini fridge in a spacious room. Would totally recommend this to anyone wanting to feel pampered. I'm five months pregnant & I slept great at this place!!!!

Heart of downtown Dallas excitement

Pros: Staff. Location. Amenities.
Location: All sorts of places nearby: Mexican, sushi, and balcony bars with appetizers. Convention ctr is .75 mi away; Dallas Love field airport is 4 mi away.
Loved this hotel, from its exterior design to the room and its modern look and amenities. A bottle of champagne was placed in the room for someone else by mistake and when I reported this to the front desk, they said to keep it and they would get another for the correct room of the intended recipient. The hotel is located nearby many great eateries and it is within walking distance to the convention center. The terrace-top pool and bar is awesome. Would return again.

Very friendly and accommodating staff

Location: Close to DART, CVS and 7-11 within 1 block. Good restaurants & sandwich shops within walking distance.
Everything in the room was as described on the hotel site and by other people leaving reviews.Loved the beds, bedding, spaciousness of the room. There was a huge column in the center of the room.Bathroom was great, lots of room.Wish there had been an extra sink in the coffee/mini fridge area & that we could have controlled the coldness. The staff were so polite and went out of their way to assist us. I paid extra for an additional person to be in our room. It would have been nice if they had provided towels, coffee, cups, etc for our 3rd person without us needing to call to request.Once we called, we were provided what we asked for.I left an expensive bed pillow in the room and didn't realize it until I got home and was unpacking. I spoke with Officer Bill in Security who took my name and number and was to call me within 3 hours. That was almost 48 hours ago and no call. Very sad about this. The staff shined when one of the people in my group fell backward on the escalator. She was assisted to the room. We received first aid help until the DALLAS Fire and Resue arrived to check out the head wound.Thankfully, all was okay. She was provided everything we requested.Their concern for her well being was sincere. It should be noted that access from the street level requires going up either stairs or escalator where we needed an elevator. Elevators were available from the second level lobby and up.Parking fees were as expected but still high. Valet was very accommodating.

Such a great experience

Pros: we loved it all
Location: Downtown Dallas with some some of the finest, dining, arts and shopping
My daughters and I stayed at the hotel and it was such a wonderful experience. The room was spacious, the furnishings were beautiful, the beds were plush, the linens and pillows were top notch. The water temperature and pressure were excellent and the staff was the absolute best. Any time I am back in Dallas, The Adolphus will be destination.

An empress refurbished

Pros: Two king-sized beds, both luxurious. Above all, the staff. Everyone was kind and accommodating.
Cons: The Adolphus is in process of renovation, so "improvements" are being made. It still retains the charm that has made the Adolphus special.
Location: Downtown Dallas, near the Akard DART station. Not far from the Arts District. Next time we want to try the Perot, focusing on science/natural history.
We were probably the first people to occupy our recently renovated room on the 21st floor. There were a few items that should be added to a punch list, but it was very comfortable indeed and five-star in terms of value for money.

The fanciest Hotel you'll ever stay!

Pros: It's just beautiful, inside and out in the classic sense. The dining room is stupefying in it's beauty.
Cons: I hesitate to answer this one. Part of the charm is it's old-school style. I'd hate for any tech upgrades to change that.
Location: The State Fair grounds. Just do yourself a favor and have a nice quick-change for walking through the lobby and such.
If you're planning a stay at the Adolphus, make sure you shine your shoes! I made the mistake of booking this hotel in a hurry to book a nice place on the last weekend of the State Fair that was nearby. I used to live in Dallas so, I'm somewhat familiar with the area and usually never stayed downtown for risking a grungy area. As such, the stars really mattered so when I saw a good price with 4+ stars I booked it. The thing is, we were all dressed for the fair which meant my daughter and I were in shorts, athletic shoes, and t-shirts festooned with cotton candy and deep fried twinkie drips. My wife was horrified at our post-Fair appearance when we checked in and made a bee line for the elevators. We kept as low a profile as possible. The staff who saw me were pleasant and seemed to understand what happened. I suspect we weren't the only State Fair attendees there, it's just when you're at the fair, perhaps the fanciest hotel in Dallas wasn't the best choice. However, it's not the Hotel's fault, I sincerely apologize for not being the best dressed. For once we saw our rooms we were blown away by the antique styling and beautiful decor. The bathrooms were amazing complete with adjustable shower nozzles, big mirrors, and tiled floors and shower walls. My room was a bit cold and just turning the AC off kept the room pleasant enough for me. The antique nature of the room means that some things are "rougher" but it's a nice patina as opposed to grunge.
