Sad

Cons: Everything...even the ceiling tiles in the lobby were shabby
Location: Nice location...worth saving instead of tear down
Property needs a COMPLETE RENOVATION!! 1st room was dirty, the water was up to my ankles by the time my shower was finished. Black mold by toilet, heat ac was not working properly, window completely wet...extremely disappointed. We were going to leave after the 1st night but the mamager upgraded us to a suite after I told him about our room. This was better but things were still wrong with the room. Please beware of old hotels with great names from the past...Crowne Plaza used to mean high end accommodations! This really needs an overhaul and not just paint and fixtures!

Convenient location

Pros: Location
Cons: Service
Location: 1.5 blocks from the dart station and close to restaurants and other downtown hotels.
Convenient downtown location if you are using the dart system. 2.5-3 stars is fairly accurate. Room was clean but in need of an update. The bar and restaurant was terrible. The service was really sub-standard. The bartender's were inattentive, and one actually tried to talk me out of ordering dinner. The other one was busy on his phone and not paying attention to anyone.

Ehhh...could have been better

I normally don't write reviews- good or bad- but I expected more from the Cown Plaza. First off, I got checked into a "accessible" room- I don't need this accommodation, and I would feel bad taking it from someone who would- I was told that this was the only room left. Ok, bear down for 1 night- no prob. But was I offered to move when another room became available? Nope. Once in the room, the knob on the shower, just spun and spun- couldn't control the temp at all- lucky I'm kinda handy And was able to temp fix it to take a shower. Did I mention the walls are thin? Both nights at 2:30 am the next door neighbor was up watching football with his buddies...not sure what language, don't care at 2:30 am. On the way to checkout my bag was ripped due to an elevators floor plate that was bent up (missing screw)- thank goodness no one got cut by this....of course I alerted the front desk to all of this prior to leaving. At least I hope that no one else has to deal with these issues.

Good but not great

Pros: Location was great.
Cons: Pool
Location: Everything we wanted to see was with in walking distance!
The pool area left a lot to be desired, the area was dirty and not a nice place to sit and relax. No hot tub or guest breakfast. They had a restrant, but I never saw it open. The bar seemed to be open, but I do not drink. It was a very old hotel, but the rooms were nice. They had room service, but a BLT was $13.99, Really?

Do not stay here. The food servers are very slow a

Pros: nothing if i had not already paid would have walked out.
Cons: New Management and totally cleaned.
Location: Dodging homeless and people saying look at the white people. wow could not believe it when did that become an issue of what color you are speechless.
Do not stay here. The food servers are very slow and you sit in the dark in the dining room because most of the lights are burned out also buffet sad. Not a safe hotel location to be at when you walk in any direction. The room is no better than a motel and the price not worth it. I am 6 Ft and my feet hung over the end of the bed not to mention, Loud all night, people screaming in halls, and yelling at the pool until 2 in the morning and I was on the 14th floor. The night club Thrive, you have to go thru a metal detector that tells you who goes their. Next time I will go back to Hilton or Omni. Or even a Best Western would be better with a lot better service +safe.

Very Disappointing

Pros: The staff was very pleasant accommodating, but there is little they can do to overcome the poor condition of this facility.
Cons: Basic maintenance of this facility is lacking; it is also very dated, but that was very secondary to the functional shortcomings.
Location: Great! Had a wonderful trip aside from the hotel experience.
Booked a King Non-smoking for three nights; checked in and were given a room with two full beds. Front desk staff was very accommodating and relocated us to a King as booked, but late the first night, we discovered that the A/C vent overhead was leaking and carpet was wet. Further, the glass door to the balcony did not close properly, and room was very noisy all night long. Reported those conditions the next morning and, again, front desk staff was very accommodating and relocated us to a third room. Also provided us with complimentary breakfast vouchers for the next two mornings. Went down to breakfast the next day and found that the kitchen was unable to produce any hot breakfast items; only fruit and stale danishes were available. A very disappointing stay; we will not book this hotel again.
