Dated hotel, subpar food

The hotel is clean, but dated. The servers were friendly, but the employees at the front desk not so much. The air conditioning in our room did not work. The food in the hotel was not tasty, some reheated from the day before. No variety at breakfast. I would not stay at this hotel again.

Amazing hotel

My first time in Cancun. This hotel is beautiful and amazing staff. When I first arrived I was treated so well. My room was everything and more. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Beach and staff are nice

beach is nice, so are the staff.. they are very good at getting and luring you into a timeshare presentation. Food was mediocre at best at the buffet, and the restaurant reservations are easy to make, but the food lack the flavor I wanted and tried to resemble the essence of fine dining. The pools are small, especially the family pool, I could not give you any information on the other two adult pools since I had my daughter with me, but I am sure it was less crowded there. Rooms could have been cleaner, nice to use the safe to store all your essentials. The room I had, the deadbolt lock was broken. Internet in the day of age should be included but must be purchased, and they tell you one device for each internet access code that you receive, but right before leaving on the transfer back to the hotel, we tried the internet on a different phone and it worked, just a heads up. Other than that being my first time in Cancun, i will probably check out another resort if i ever return.

Great Hotel for a low cost!

We had an enjoyable stay at the Occidental Tucancun! This was my first all-inclusive vacation and I was surprised at how pleased I was. The staff was great, the food was suprisingly delicious, and the pools were great. The beach is set in the open water so the waves were pretty rough. We just stayed at the pools the entire time. I would definitely recommend this resort if you're looking for value for your money!

Great Place to Stay

I would definitely recommend. Four restaurants. Great staff. Right on the beach. Couldn't ask for more. Close to shopping.

incredible experience

Location: the mall the restaurant the walk by the beach
this is our first time me and my boyfriend to Cancun and let me tell you I want to go back as soon as possible, the hotel is amazing the staff are very friendly the food is unbelievable, we enjoyed the view from our room the pools are clean, we saw the Michael Jackson show amazing. you will not go wrong with this hotel .

Hotel is close to the beach

The staff was incredible friendly and polite. The room was very clean the only downfall was that some of the furniture was a little out dated. The only thing I would change is a ocean view room instead of looking out to the parking lot.

Watch out for theives

This is long but definitely worth the read for my future travelers to this resort. I always leave a review whether they are good or bad and let me just say this one is bad. Now don't get me wrong, the resort is nice. It has a wonderful view of the beach and SOME of the staff were amazing. And by some I mean all of the bartenders. They always wore a smile and joked around. They were the next there! The food is so so. It's very repetitive. They have the same meats and just change the sauces. You would think that there would be an option for Mexican food every night but unfortunately it wasn't. I did not like that all. Next. THE BAD. starting off we had problems, we booked this vacation months ago that stated we had two balcony rooms with a lagoon view. When we went to check in, we were told we only had one room. For 6 people? I don't think so. It took so much verification, it was annoying. Thank goodness I had service and my email worked to bring up our confirmation otherwise who knows what would have happened. Second, they don't even give you time to visit your room before they bother you about a timeshare. I don't mind being asked about it but it would have been nice to see our room first before they bum rush about buying a villa. Third, we wanted to go a different island. (Isla mujures) They have a help desk but when we asked they didn't help at all. She asked to go talk to their activities guy who basically told us he would only help if we booked an excursion through him

Don't do it

Worst food, dated accommodations. Erratic water temperature in the shower all week long! Pool was just average. Alcohol was the lowest quality. Not worth the all inclusive price for such subpar food and beverages. Ended up eating and drinking outside the resort often. The only positive thing was that the staff was friendly and hardworking. And the beach nice.
