Cute and private 😁

My boyfriend and I needed a place to stay for one night. We were greeted by the host and given privacy. The room has a beach side view and a private pool - literally you walk out and it’s all yours and not shared! There’s a cute dock with two swings and the view is amazing. I was so nervous because reviews were not the best and now I’m just confused as to why! This place was cute and private for one night it was great :) 10/10 would recommend if you’re looking for a hidden gem that’s not in the hustle and bustle of the hotel zone!

The host Ernesto is creepy. Better not to visit as a single female traveler. He's not good at replying to texts until the last minute. He is not professional and uses this place to 'pick up' guests for his personal pleasure. Does not take 'no' for an answer and has a temper. The place is full of mosquitoes, air conditioner is not working very humid, not well maintained, far from any conveniences and only one expensive restaurant in the area. Lots of seaweed on the beach which smells. Just overall weird.

I loved Anibal... he was so accommodating anything I needed or questions I had he was right there to help me . I had asked how far it was to the ferry he jumped in the cab with me and took me there. He makes an amazing blended fruit drink in the morning. When I arrived I was in the single room there was availability for other rooms so he showed them to me I was able to upgrade to the beach front room which was amazing for a very minimal price ...Anibal Was wonderful!!!!!!

Being right on the beach was great. The mattress was terrible, the tv didn't work, and there's a near constant drone of a big diesel ferry going back and forth from nearby to the island. There's no breakfast either, just coffee, but there is a kitchen.

Nothing at all like the photos on Expedia. There isn't a sign to state where the place is, you have to guess. We waited on the street waiting for the owner to arrive a half hour late. The front of the location looked like there was a hurricane with downed palms, debris and trash. Chairs broken, the dock wasn't there.. no amenities at all. We left and booked a hotel. I took pictures of what Mayambe actually looks like! Won't recommend or go back! First vacation in 3 years and this is what I experienced, very disappointed!!

Mixed feelings

It started off good the guy that runs in was nice . I paid extra for breakfast and never got it he said it was juice and coffee. Then he tried to get me for 30 dollars saying that he would have to get a reservation in order for me to snorkel just to find out that wasnt true . Once he found out I did it without him I got no more conversation. Other than that and my room was infested with ants , the tv not working and the fridge not working it was a nice little set up .

Basic lodging right on the beach

We had a great vacation here. Right on the beach, friendly staff. The property could use a little updating in room decor, the kitchen and bathrooms. That said, our room had clean bedding and towels. We had a balcony with a beautiful view of the water. The location was away from the hotel zone, very peaceful and safe neighborhood. Travel to activities, stores and restaurants via collectivos was cheap and convenient. Our stay did not include breakfast, which confused me because it was not clearly stated on the Expedia website.

Nice view and close to the beach.

The hotel has no name outside, difficult to find. It a share kitchen where thw refrigerator, coffe maker and microwave were dirty , old and filthy. The room was big with no tv , the bathromm was not working and then terrible smell from almost an open bathroom that was converted in a closet.

Right on the beach

Ernesto, the owner was very gracious and accomodating. The room was right on the beach. I mean, stop out your door and you are on the sandy beach. It was far enough out of Cancun to be very tranquil and there were very few people walking by. I.e., you essentially have a private beach.

Wonderful Cheap Vacations

I really enjoyed staying a Mayambe private beach house, I got the smallest cheapest room for one person with no a/c for $201 US Dollars, all charges and taxes included, for 6 days. With the windows open and fan it was fresh and pleasant to sleep, plus the owner let me stayed in another room with a/c for two nights, at no extra charge, while it was vacant. Upon arrival I called the owner from the airport and he waited for me when I arrived around 11 pm. I loved using the public transportation [SUVs "Peseras"] that stop right in front of the house and would take me to different locations up to downtown Cancun and the bus terminal ADO for $8.50 MX Pesos [$0.48 US]. From there I would take R-1 bus to the tourist and hotel areas for $10 MX Pesos [$0.57 US]. I spent most of the day in beautiful public beaches like Playa Tortugas, Delfines, Caracol and Isla Mujeres, where I would drink and eat all day for about $30-50 US Dollars, except the last night at Isla Mujeres where I had two bottles of Champaign and lobster. I took the ferry to Isla Mujeres from their terminal at Puerto Juarez, about 5 minutes in Pesera from the house for $140 MX Pesos round trip [$8.0 US], which departing from other locations in same boat costs about $19 US Dollars. On the way back to the airport I took the Pesera to the ADO bus terminal for $8.50 pesos, then an ADO bus to the airport for $70 pesos, a taxi may cost up to $900 MX Pesos x same. Overall I really enjoyed it and am looking forward to return.

Being next to the ocean front is the best

Being next to the ocean front is the best, sitting in the patio and having breakfast, being on your phone and just relaxing as you hear the ocean its amazing. Amazing experience, great wifi too. Ernesto is very helpful, knowledgeable and will give you anything you need to make your stay great.
