The reception and overall experience at Le Blanc was nothing short of amazing! My only issue was that the sliding glass doors on the room we were in seals about as good as a screen door. There was a constant howl/whistle as the wind seeped through the cracks and seems on multiple sides of the sliding doors. So much so that the curtains were visibly moving with the wind. Food was 5 stars; every plate was photo shoot ready and the taste was exceptional.

Great service and beach

Great trip to LeBlanc. The service/staff was exceptional. specifically our butler Eduardo, Armando in the International restaurant, Jorge and Hugo on the beach, the cleaning crew for the 6th floor, and Ernesto at the front door. The spa was also amazing (beautiful), and the lady that works the sauna/steam room area (name begins with an "E") was absolutely great, as well as the pedicure and manicure specialist.

Modern hotel right on the beach

Pros: Staff is friendly and helpful. Very modern and clean. Spa is amazing. Lots of lounge chairs by pool and beach.
Cons: Carpet runner in hallways to cut down on high heel noise and squeaky sandals. Felt tabs on room chairs to cut down on noise when you move them.
Location: Flea market is within walking distance along with some restaurants. Otherwise you need to take a bus or taxi.
As soon as we pulled up to the hotel the staff was there greeting us and handing us coconut milk...which we traded for a cold beer and mimosa. Check in was easy but they give you too much info and we were exhausted from our flights so we didn't remember half of what they told us. They take you over to the activities desk where they explain which excursions you can use your room credit on. We booked ours later at the info desk by the spa after we got some rest and more information. This was our second time in Cancun so we had already done most the excursions that were listed for room credit. We went in January and it was windy and warm every day so we didn't get to snorkel. Last time we came in February and I don't remember it being windy and we enjoyed snorkeling. We choose Garrafon Reef park which I do NOT recommend. The boat ride took forever to get there and then you're stuck on this island for 3 hours. It was windy so we weren't able to snorkel or use kayaks. You can pay extra to swim with dolphins but we had done that before. There is a quick 3 line zip-line that is good for beginners. Lunch was a buffet of weird foods. We really wished we hadn't wasted a day on this excursion.

Must read on Le Blanc (Nov. 2013)

I'm generally not inclined to write reviews, although I read them religiously, but my experience at Le Blanc required an exception. First to set some expectations, readers should know (1) I'm married - late 30's (2) Fortune 25 executive  (3) from the Northeast - NJ and (4) preferred hotels are Four Seasons, Ritz Carlton and St. Regis. I rarely have non-business related travel so a vacation (away from our toddler) is a real treat. Why we chose Le Blanc? Based on lots of reviews and additional research. I also exchanged notes with Andreas, the General Manager and was very impressed with his follow-up to my questions. What we really liked? Everything! You will truly be spoiled at this Resort. A honeymoon suite or better is a must and I would recommend suites 803 - 811 (8th Floor) - these rooms have ocean views. Hugo was our favorite Butler and very eager to make our vacation as wonderful as possible. What we really loved? The Food The Italian restaurant (ask for Gabriel to ensure exceptional service) was out of this world. The shrimp risotto changed my life and my husband still dreams about the veal osso buco. Israel, the Manager, ensured each dinner was better than the last. We ate there four times during a 7 day vacation! A very close second to the Italian was the Oriental Restaurant (ask for Reynaldo, he will take excellent care of you). The grouper and sushi were     noteworthy. The Spa I've enjoyed spa services around the world and was very impressed with all of my treatments at Le Blanc. The space is really gorgeous and truly relaxing. I would highly recommend, Leleni and Sara for the couples romantic massage. The Spa prices are expensive($350) for 60 minute couples massage and the resorts credits are capped at $500 out of the $1500 resort credit promotion for spa use. Despite the cost, I plan on adding another massage during my next trip due to the high quality of service and technique. I also had a shellac manicure but for $100, would probably just opt to upgrade to a facial. Room for improvement / "Opportunities": Rooms The rooms are well appointed with very comfortable beds. We enjoyed the pillow menu and dual shower heads. I did notice some "wear & tear" in the shower area (rust) as stated by another Reviewer but it was superficial and minor. Breakfast at the International Restaurant The breakfast at the International Restaurant was very average. I think room service was better for breakfast. They have a smoked salmon trio which was fabulous day or night. We enjoyed the buffet lunch at the International Restaurant  6 days in a row. Travel Tips for Le Blanc: 1. Floors 6 -9 ocean view / Honeymoon Suites have the most spectacular views. The Third Floor is all smoking and if you suffer from allergies, the lagoon can be brutal. We took some photos in the lagoon and that evening I had a terrible sinus headache. 2. Pass on the Palace Resort sales pitch breakfast. In my opinion, the other Palace resorts fail miserably in comparison to Le Blanc. In addition, sales people like Miguel reflect badly on the entire Palace brand. 3. Spa reservations fill quickly so make them, as soon as, you arrive. 4. Although tipping is not required or expected, I brought 100 dollars in 5's and 150 dollars in 1's. The Le Blanc staff make this resort 5 stars so please appreciate their amazing service. 5. Pre-arrange your hotel transfers, prior to the trip, details are contained on the Le Blanc website. We found the less expensive ($86 round trip) group transfer very adequate versus ($200) private car. 6. Be prepared to be treated like royalty! From the lavender aromatherapy in the lobby to the frozen Hawaiians poolside, relaxation, amazing photos and a zen like peace are abound at Le Blanc! See you there. Sent from my iPhone
