I wouldn’t let my dog stay at his property. The place was filthy. Nothing in the hotel worked. There was no working water. None of the hot tubs worked. There was no concierge available. There were no available clean towels. staff was unaccommodating. There were no vending machines, no ice machines, and no real front desk staff. There was a foul smell coming out of the tub drain. The door to my hotel room shook violently when the wind blew. The elevator did not work, and we had to carry heavy luggage to the third floor.

Zero attention after problem with water in all hotel. TV not working at arrival and fixed 3 hours after. Then no TV service next day. There is nobody to take responsibility. The manager said this things happen and we are too busy. He treated us like criminals not like guess. He apologized but didn’t offer nothing in return. I will never come back there.

The rooms are large, the property is nice with a great beach. The hotel is in a state of repair, but that did not stop us from enjoying the property. We had a great view. The staff was great. There are limited options for food and drink, but everything was made with fresh and tasty ingredients. There is a grocery next door, a bunch of restaurants within a quick walk. Just 20 minute walk to the malls. Short bus ride to downtown.

It’s hard to say bad things about this hotel because the staff went above and beyond. Unfortunately the hotel should not be open for business until refurbished. The AC went out after two days, the shower only had a trickle of flow and about 5 minutes of hot water. The hot tub on the balcony hasn’t worked in ages, broken and rusted. The restaurant is not functional but the Staff will prepare what they can to do their best. The convenience store in the lobby was empty, not operational. The building has numerous areas that need to be addressed for walls cracking and falling apart. Overall the stay was disappointing with exception of the staff who were awesome to do what they could.

Old hotel and museum - more museum

Located in hotel zone close to one large shopping center. Property once was beautiful, now most of it closed. Rooms large, no air conditioning 3 of the 4 nights we were there. TV in room to be repaired daily - no English channels available. $12.50 per day for WiFi , so slow one could not pull up email or search engine - $18.00 for faster internet. Small dining room by pool will turn on ac if you request. Food was very good. Only bar at pool. Beach access difficult. Palapas available on beach, high sand dune prevents view of ocean - very difficult to enter ocean. The staff was friendly and tried to help. The best part was the Spa , wonderful masseuse . Spa hidden under stairs to beach - don't miss it.

Thank you for your review . We are unsure they you state that most of the hotel is closed as this is not strictly true. During low season we have concentrated the dining and bar service in certain areas of the hotel. Unfortunately you experienced problems with the a/c in your room and were offered a change of room to resolve this. We have multiple channels in English available – however sometimes it is necessary to change the language setting on the TV channel as guests may have changed it to Spanish – we could resolve this very quickly and simply if you had advised us of the issue. In line with other Hotels, wifi is chargeable at the hotel and our rates are reasonable should guests wish to contract the service. We have a pool bar and we offer bar service at the beach and in the restaurants. Access down to the Beach is via stairways either side of the pool area . Weather conditions are out of our control and we operate a flag warning system of when it is safe to swim and when it is not permitted. We are glad that you mention our friendly and helpful staff and that you enjoyed your spa service. We hope that you will return so that we can demonstrate our commitment to giving excellent service.

Old World Charm and Enchantment

Pros: The staff, the staff and the staff! Amazing people. Dining and beverages were extraordinary and plentiful.
Cons: It is perfect as is.
Location: There is ample high-end shopping near the hotel to include Cartier', Gucci and others. Also, many water sports.
Casa Turquesa, simply stated, is magical. The hotel is older and more traditional in its décor and setting. There is an impressive art collection and an antique grand piano in the foyer. As with any facility, the hotel is but a structure. What makes Casa Turquesa so special is the staff. I have traveled around the world many times and have yet to find any other hotel that come close to the excellence provided at Casa Turquesa. The genuine warmth and hospitality at all levels is pervasive and heartfelt. Everyone we met went the extra distance to ensure our stay was beyond perfect. We came to appreciate them so very much. We will definitely return at our earliest.

I'm surprised they are still in business

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet
Cons: beds extremely hard
The list of what this hotel is offering is embellishing to say the least. They have a small regular pool that has a swim up bar but never opened once or even seemed to be in working condition for the 8 days I was there. The tennis court is run down and dead although I doubt you would really want to play in the humidity anyway. The Spa was opened one day out of our 8 and it was a little hidden room that said simply said Spa. The beds can easily be mistaken for a box spring, when I complained about the bed they gave me a quilted sheet and told me that was all they can do since all their beds were the same. They do not provide you with a list of places in the area or services that the hotel provides you just have to keep bugging them if you have questions. It actually almost feels like you are staying in a gallery after hours because the help would act as if they were avoiding you and at one time we came back at 9pm and all the lights where off and the guy at the front desk was using a flash light. If I had paid a lot less then what the other hotels where charging I would have choked it up to "you get what you pay for" but that is not the case. The only good thing I can say about this place is that the gallery aspect of it is awesome and the rooms are very charming. The location of the place is awesome but you do have to climb a steep hill to get to it which, when you have had one too many margaritas, can be quite dangerous. Trust me when I say this unless they are advertising new management and all new comfortable beds don't go. You will be leaving your vacation sore and sorry.
