Avani has been amazing it will now be the hotel we stay at for the beginning of our trips in Cancun. Diego working the front desk is awesome so kind and friendly. Rooms are great and super clean. Highly recommend it. The bartenders were also so fantastic.

Avani Cancun is in the middle of nowhere and staff only speak one language. the televisions are all in one language and are not capable of changing to another language we even asked a staff member and they couldn’t figure it out as well. Ahead of the trip I emailed requesting a shuttle ride to and from the airport and no one ever responded to my email after calling the hotel and being instructed to send an email with the request and then they still never responded to my request. As a result we ended up paying an inflated USD charge to get a taxi ride to the hotel. Won’t stay there again.

Great value! Bad check-in experience.

The hotel was good value for the money. Make sure you don’t get there before 3:00pm, they will not allow early check-in, even if it’s an hour before 3:00pm. The wifi is unsecured. The pool is surprisingly nice. Comfortable beds. Jorge at the desk was not pleasant, hopefully you don’t check-in with him. No courtesy, no smiles, short answers. Didn’t explain even one amenity; nothing about WiFi, shuttle survive, room service. Nothing. He took our passports and told us to sit and wait. No explanation. We went back after 15 minutes of waiting and took our passports back and went to get food across at the mall. Absolutely terrible encounter and way to start a stay. Never had a worse interaction with a front desk staff member. No hospitality. Anyways, overall, great value for the hotel, we appreciated the hotel and what it offered. Just don’t get unlucky and have Jorge check you in.
