We booked a master suite with ocean view. It was a nice room overlooking the pool and had a full ocean view. We didn't like the fact that it had 7 stairs that you had to go down to get to the balcony. There was no handrail, so we were quite concerned about falling. The staff were all very friendly and courteous. Bernardo at the pool bar was excellent. There is only one pool at the resort and it only has maybe 24 loungers around it. People would put towels on the loungers quite early in the morning to reserve them. There are more loungers at the beach. It was easier to get a spot there. There are two ala carte restaurants. You can only reserve them the day before or day of before 2pm. They are also each closed two days a week. This was a bit frustrating as we were only able to get into each once during our 7 day stay. The resort has a lot of steps everywhere. From getting into the front entrance and everywhere outside. Some are quite steep and not all have handrails. There are handicap ramps but they are also quite steep and slanted. I would not recommend this resort to the elderly or handicapped. They are currently under renovation. There was constant noise all day from the construction and sometimes as late as 7pm. The lobby lounge doesn't open until 6pm. There are no shows in the evening however they have music and or karaoke starting at 9pm. I realize that we were there in what is considered off season. It could be different when busier.

We booked 1 King Bed with 398 sqft but the staff downgraded us and positioned it as an “upgrade” to ocean view, while the actual room was really tiny with only 100+ sqft; it was just a double bed and smelly, let along it was just partial ocean view and the balcony doors couldn't function. Eventually we got the right room back but had to carry huge luggage all the way down from the 5th floor (no elevator) and across buildings. When we just arrived, the concierge kept pushing services even when we told him we were starving and tired. Nights were super loud with shows going until midnight, so make sure you bring earplugs. That said, I’m still giving credit that the staff are very friendly and patient. I saw the manager was onsite every day which was appreciated. The two restaurants serve great food. They had loud construction going on during our stay so make a note of that if you plan to book this place in the next 2-3 months.

First day. I dont understand the positive reviews. Absolutely nothing special. Beach chairs are terrible, beach sargoso is not treated, food is average, "upscale" restaurants think they can require formal attire, drinks take forever and beer is warm. If you want something other than modelo, its extra. Service is below average of other resorts. Last day- Final thoughts are not much different than the first day. By Day 3, we gave up on eating in the hotel. The food was just pretty terrible at all times and days. The beach was plowed everyday after the first so we did have a nice beach day on the last day. Also shout out to Rafael, the bartender in the Lobby Bar. He should be in Vegas. And Luis on the beach. Overall, NYX is not a 4.5 star resort. At least not in Cancun. We will leave disappointed.

This is a TRAP place. Worse Hotel ever. Dirty, noisy, in construction with hammer drills working. All inclusive buffet a joke, all cheap foods included, but the good ones were not included and offered under HIGH prices. Standard food like shrimp, or ribeye not included, offered for more than $60. Not idea why Expedia offer this Hotel in this plataform.

No hot water, service was slow at the beach restaurant, fridge in the room does not work, building is outdated, rooms are not that nice compared to where I have stayed before. Lobby bar does not open until 6pm. You have to go to the pool bar to get drinks. The food at the Hibachie and Italian restaurant were fantastic. They put us in a room directly beneath a room that was being remodeled. Just imagine loud hammering noises being right above you. Thankfully they moved our rooms but we had to give up the Ocean view. The pool is nice but not enough chairs or space for guest to sit.

We had an amazing time at Hotel NYX!!! The staff was so friendly and helpful, the food (especially the Umami restaurant) was great, the hotel was nice and clean and our room with an ocean view was stunning. Juan, one of the beach servers was fantastic and the front desk staff was so welcoming when we arrived. We had a lovely romantic weekend and would love to return again.

Pros-food quality and walking distance to shopping Everything else was pretty dissapointing. There def was a language barrier with majority of staff there as most of the guest spoke spanish and there didnt seem to be an issue for them, us in the other hand… The staff were very rude and dismissive to us, not sure why. Especially by the hostess at breakfast and lunch who seemed to just be annoyed by our presence. We werent offered condiments, water or simple common courtesy by the lunch and breakfast staff. The late dinner dinner staff who consisted of mostly males were exceptional however. Kudos to Inrique(i think), daniel, yoceline who was amazing on the beach and the entertainment staff. Our room was not cleaned during our 5 night stay, house keeping came by twice at 830am. Why so early on a resort, people are sleeping in. The pool shuts down early at 9pm, all food options shut down at 1030pm and the lobby shuts down at 12am. This made it very difficult to enjoy yourself. The drinks were veryyyy watered down even with double shots failed to really taste liqour in them. On our last night whilst checking out we had to carry our luggage down the very steep steps ourselves at 3am, no assistance offered. Rooms were very dated, bed uncomfortable, mini flat pillow and thin blankets with a very loud ac. Overall very unpleasant experience.

We were thrilled with our stay at NYX! The location was walking distance to La Isla mall, and the bus stop to travel to other areas of Cancun was right outside the hotel. Shopping and nightlife up the road was too far for ME to walk (but was only 5 minutes by bus or taxi). The breakfast buffet was excellent. The other meals were good too, but the breakfast was over and above. There was never a wait for a table for any meal, and we traveled during peak season. Oscar helped my daughter book a hair appointment at the spa and he was so kind, as was every staff member we encountered. Our refrigerator wasn't getting cold, so I notified the desk, and it was fixed in an hour. NYX was kept impeccably clean at all times by housekeeping, and everyone went over and above to make sure we had a great stay. They offered lots of activities too! We did pool Zumba with Stephanie who was a great instructor, we took a guacamole class, played pool in the lounge and even sang karaoke, all included in our stay. The ONLY thing needing improvement is the towel issue. The pool was open until 9 or 10pm depending on the night, but the towel booth closed at 6, so if you wanted to swim after 6 you couldn't get a towel. Each guest is only given one towel for a shower, so we didn't want to use them for the pool too. We will definitely be back because our stay was exceptional, but in the future please consider keeping the pool towel booth open until the pool closes.
