There is a thief in the house.

Pros: Near the beach
Cons: Fire the thief
Location: Near the beach and shopping.
Items taken from our granddaughters room while we were out. Manger did nothing about it was very unconcerned about it. The only people who had keys was my granddaughter and the hotel so what does that tell you. So the thief is still in the house. A police report was made on this but that was as far as it went. The hotel offered nothing in return for all of this. PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE UNLESS YOU WANT ITEMS STOLE FROM YOU. THE THIEF IS STILL IN THE HOUSE.

Hotel stay

The hotel room was small. It was clean, and the hotel staff were good. The parking is a joke. You are forced to use the valet parking which is 30 dollars a day! The service was good but Id rather park my own car and not pay 30 a day. The hotel is in a pretty good location. I think I'll find a different hotel next time though.

Aloha James, Thank you for sharing your experience with us. The valet service operates as a separate company and prices are out of our control, but there is street parking on Kapahulu Ave and Kalakaua Ave, but at your own risk. We apologize we could not relay the information sooner and we hope you give us another chance in our enhanced property.

Beautiful Hotel

Pros: The restaurant, pool, room, the staff!
Cons: Reduce daily parking rates
Location: Zoo, aquarium, pool, beach, food, trolley tours, shopping, nail shop (NOT NWL Nails)!
Loved our experience at this hotel, the only disappointment was the daily parking fee, it was way over priced at $30.00 considering the hotel offers daily public parking rates of $8.00 (6am - 6pm). I felt the hotel could have offered discount rate (daily/weekly) to the hotel quest.

Aloha Amy, Thank you for taking the time to write your review of our property, your comments are very much valued. We really appreciate your comments regarding our customer service. Our staff members take their roles in our industry very seriously and try, every day, to provide that quality customer service that our guests expect. We would like to apologize for our parking rates, unfortunately charging for parking was inevitable and we along with all Waikiki hotels charge for parking. Thank you again, and we look forward to seeing you on your next trip! Best Regards,

Close to the beach and Diamond Head

This was my second time staying at Queen Kapiolani Hotel and I feel like it's great value for the money. I love the old world feel of the hotel lobby. We had lovely views of Waikiki Beach, Diamond Head and the canopy of trees in the Honolulu Zoo.

Not worth my hard earned money.

Pros: Kindness and warmth of staff. Filtered water in lobby. Nice to have a decent microwave.
Cons: Replace drapes, chairs, lamps, cabinets, windows. Not worth my heard earned money, especially because my satisfaction has no bearing on what w
Location: Waikiki is very active, it was nice to be so close to the beach. It was wonderfully unique to hear the animal noises from the zoo.
Not the worst place I have stayed, but ranks up there as one of the worst. Chair covers, drapes and lamps were tattered and torn providing a visually poor presence. Beds were old and saggy provided 3 consecutive nights of discomfort. While we love Hawaiian breezes and the ocean, the slat windows never fully closed and we were bombarded with FULLY bellowing drapes while windows were closed. Yes, I said closed. We upgraded for a refrigerator to save our food supply, but based on the cost, it would have been cheaper, but sadder to throw the food away. I am especially angry because there is no recourse for us to have. We simply handed over our hard-earned money, and got a cheap experience. The room was cleaned well, and the bathroom was decent. The air conditioner was quiet, unlike most hotels. Gift shop was great. Thank you for the filtered water in the lobby. ALL staff were kind and extremely pleasant, except for one front desk member. Travelocity, you should post reviews that include rates as we got way way less than what we paid for. Again, I have no recourse, the consumer has no protection. I just handed over my money with no recourse for dissatisfaction. Overall poor value.

AVOID THIS HOTEL

We chose this hotel based on a recommendation from a friend and I think this might be the end of our friendship. Not only is this place a total dump, but the valet (which they force you to use for $30/day if you want to park) stole my husband's brand new sunglasses. The only positive is that they do offer free cribs, but both my son's bed and ours was hard as a rock. Watch out because this hotel will nickel and dime you the whole time you are there and then they will leave you only decaf coffee. AVOID THIS HOTEL.
