Great stay

First time in Newcastle and this hotel was perfect, it doesn’t offer dinner but that is fine,as there are so many great restaurants very near by just 1 minute walk .We stayed in the Armstrong suite the room was a bit dark with a small window to the back of the building.It was not a problem for us ,as it was very well presented with some lovely touches. White company toiletries and spotlessly clean.From the staff on the front desk to breakfast, cleaning they were all so attentive and polite. We will definitely use this hotel again

GREY STREET HOTEL

Great location 5 minutes walking distance from the train station, surrounded by bars restaurants and shops perfect. Great breakfast would book again but probably go for a bigger room.

Wee weekend away

Nice hotel great location stayed in a junior sweet which was nice maybe needs furniture upgraded the bathroom and shower was really nice great shower. But did have slight issue with drain trap not being cleaned and water not getting away. The location is a bit noisy but it’s right in centre near plenty bars

Disappointing than usual.

This is one of my favourite hotels to stay in, but sadly this stay has me questioning whether I'll stay again. we were unable to check in at 3pm when we should've because the room still wasnt ready. We were due straight out, but couldn't check in for around 40 mins. We missed a chunck of the event. I had to sleep ontop of the quilt as there were several yellow stains on the bed sheets.

Double room was very small, distinct smell of drains and very very dusty. Reception staff were not particularly helpful e.g. cartons of water in room on first day of stay (as stated) however not provided on subsequent days - when requested were told it was chargeable …we’d get one if we checked out and checked back in again!! On the positive, the staff serving breakfast was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was lovely.

Hotel was ideally placed for the station and everywhere we wanted to be. Comfortable and friendly, tho a little quirky in its layout with sets of stairs here and there. Was disappointed to see the hotel bar had closed but didnt affect our stay.

The Grey hotel is LOVLEY the bedding and towels top class the location is perfect the building is old and retains some of the original decor but has been brought up to date in areas needed the breakfast was excellent I would recommend the Grey hotel in a instant

Good value

Got a free upgrade to a deluxe room which meant a bigger bed. Room was spacious but carpet was very stained. Good tea and coffee facilities and breakfast was nice. Room was surprisingly quiet given the location- could only hear the floorboards creaking from the room above

Ok but noisy

Stayed for one night. Hotel staff friendly and breakfast good. Did ask for a quiet room, but was given one that overlooked main street. Awake most of night due to the noise!
