The hotel elevators do not work well for the capacity of people staying there. Also we requested a room with two double beds and could not give it to us. Overall not a great experience.

Good Option

Pros: Location. and overall quality of the facility
Cons: Air conditioning was poor. Also, charging a daily fee for Wi-Fi in the room is RIDICULOUS in this day and age.
The hotel is very well located adjacent to, but not right in the middle of, the French Quarter. The rooms were fairly well appointed and the staff was very friendly.

Room and sleep experience

Cons: Room cleanliness
Location: In good distance. Just wish we were closer to the casino and French Quarter. Will select better location next time.
The carpet was soiled and the mattresses sunk in. They were not firm at all. It was 1:00 before anyone came to clean the room.

Worst hotel experience of my life

They were overbooked and didn’t have a room for us. They sent our family of four to a nearby hotel with only a full sized bed. Two of us slept on the cold, hard floor. I will never stay at a Marriott Hotel for the rest of my life and will tell everyone I know how worthless and awful their service is.

JW Marriott not quite up to speed

Pros: Housekeeping (Siria was great) and convenient location. The lobby bar was very nice, again if you are pleased with $18 Bloody Mary's. Wifi.
Cons: Size of room for the money; aforementioned water temperature issues; breakfast.
Location: Central location near all French Quarter sites, the Aquarium, Convention Center, etc.
Our room cost averaged over $500 per night, including the ridiculous New Orleans taxes. For this price, one is entitled to expect excellent accommodations. They were just OK. The hotel is in a good location for the sites of New Orleans; many things are within walking distance: the Quarter, the Aquarium, St. Charles Avenue streetcar line, etc. The bathroom was about the size of a phone booth. While the shower was a good one, the water temperature variation was absurd. One moment the water temperature was nice and warm, the next moment blazing hot. Frankly, that too is ridiculous. They have a nice "Executive" lounge where breakfast is served in the morning and drinks and snacks in the evening. Final verdict: Meh! It should have been better at these prices. Overall the room was OK, but small. Although housekeeping was excellent, this facility wasn't worth the price. The desk clerk indicated that he had given us a room with an excellent view. Really? OK, maybe so if you prefer a view that includes looking at all the roofs, including commercial air conditioners. My wife or I won't be staying at this hotel again. Better value is available.

Awesome Place

Pros: location
Cons: nothing
Location: Bourbon Street about a block away
Hotel staff VERY helpful and friendly. Neighbors too loud in the early evening before they went out to party - but all other things at the JW were fine
