"Nice Hotel"
This is the second time we had stayed at this hotel in recent years and we enjoyed it just as we did the last time. The staff is extremely friendly and they seem to care about you and what your plans are for your stay. This trip we didn't do a lot of of tours or activities which was exactly what we needed. Being right on a nice small beach with great sunsets every night was the medicine we needed. I would like to thank the Ocean bar and grill staff for their friendliness and the accommodating atmosphere they exude. Even though this is a "resort" hotel it is not stuffy and is the laid back style that I yearn for while on vacation. Expect to pay more for food and drinks on the property but that is pretty much the norm.

"Quaint little cottage "
Cute, furnished, rustic, 2 bedroom little cottage close to Black Sand Beach, Volcanoes, and coffee plantation. It's a quiet area in a small town about midway between Kona and Hilo along the southern part of the island. One of the bedrooms had 2 single beds in it, which was perfect for the kids. The owners were wonderful, nice people that gave us tips on places to go. We would definitely will stay there again.

"Perfect Place to Stay"
The Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel is the perfect place to stay. I visited a lot of the other resorts on the west side of the big island and this one seemed to be the best. It had a sense of privacy the others did not have. Most of the hotels are crammed into the touristy sections of downtown Kona. This one is a bit more secluded, but only a 5-10 minute drive away. Snorkeling was available (Free equipment!!) right on the strip of private beach along with free umbrellas for beach side days. Even though it is secluded the beach and pool areas still have singles, if you are interested, but without the frat house vibe of the downtown Kona hotels and bars...... Many of the Big Island Hotels do not have beach access but instead are on a rocky shore...... Hapuna is on one of the best beaches of the big island. Get the Splash Pass!!!! Well worth it!!!! Rent a car!!!!! Convertible for basic stuff or jeep for some of the trail/ mountain road stuff (few but not many roads require 4WD)

"Nice, but old hotel"
We had a corner room with great views of the ocean. I don't think the air conditioner vents in the room had been cleaned in months. They were so dusty. The tile floor wasn't cleaned very well. There were long black hairs all over, I'm assuming from the previous guests. I had to take a wet towel and wipe the floor. It was gross. The rest of the room appeared to be clean - the bed linens were clean, the sinks were clean, the shower was clean. The overall look of the building (Bay Tower) we were in was old.

"High light of our Hawaii vacation"
We were only in Kona for one night but what a night it was!! The hotel is luxury!! The Valet met us with a smile and when we explained how early we would be leaving, he told us he would bring the car up to the front entrance when he got off and leave the key with the front desk. The cost for the fabulous service - only 1/4 of the cost of Valet parking in Waikiki. The rooms had a spectacular view of the bay! The balcony railing are solid, but slanted and actually made my daughter feel totally safe with the height. In addition, the chairs and table on the deck were high enough that you could see over the rail even when seated. We enjoyed dinner in the on-site restaurant Rays on the Bay. The food was delicious, service was very good and the show the surf put on for us was something to behold. The rooms were very spacious and the bedding super comfortable. I definitely have this resort on places I want to come again!

"Nice hotel with view of the ocean"
We enjoyed staying at the Royal Sea Cliff, easy in and out and free parking which is nice. The negatives were it is to far from Kona to walk too. There isn't anything close by to go see on foot. Also no restaurant at the hotel or within walking distance.

"Kona Vaca"
Good hotel. Staff and hotel condition very good; great location in Kona. The only problem I have was at the little beach the facility has. There is not warning of possible accident stepping on a sea urchin while sweamming at the facility beach. I stepped on one, leaving six punctures on my right foot. It was very painful experience, and almost ruined my vacation. The hotel should have recommendations of wearing shoes while swimming. They have a variety of water sports on shallow water. Thankfully, I decided not to go to the ER and suck up the pain with vinegar and !!urine!! Recommended by some locals. Still have the spines inside my skin, and waiting for them to come out.

"Nice location, friendly staff"
The grounds around the hotel are lovely, the location is convenient, and Hilo offers a variety of eateries. The room was decent, if a bit old in decor. Having a deck (lanai) with chairs was nice. The buffet was the only option during holidays in the big dining hall, so we were glad we could order a simple salad in the bar area.
