This place is great. Food is great, rooms are clean and up to date, property grounds are well kept and it’s quiet. Great for our family of five. If wanting more action, head to the royal sands and checkout an entirely different experience with the beach to larger property grounds. The water park is also a nice addition. We like to explore different areas and countries, but it will be hard not to come back to this place on our next trip. All staff were exceptional as well.

The unacceptable noise conditions during my recent stay at your hotel made it impossible to properly rest and seriously undermined the purpose of my booking. My room was directly exposed to heavy traffic running in front of the windows. Throughout the entire night, loud motorbikes—particularly high-speed motorcycles—passed continuously, producing sharp, resonant noise that echoed throughout the building. The situation was exacerbated by the hotel’s layout: the room faced interior corridors that amplified and prolonged the sound, effectively turning the space into an echo chamber. Sleep was repeatedly disrupted, and sustained rest was impossible. The disturbance did not end at night. Constant daytime and nighttime traffic from buses and heavy trucks generated ongoing noise and vibrations, indicating insufficient soundproofing for a hotel that claims to offer comfort and rest. I reported this issue to reception on two separate occasions. On both occasions, I was told that it was either too late or too early to find a solution. This response was particularly frustrating, as the noise did not pause depending on the hour, and no alternative room or mitigation was offered. These conditions fall well below reasonable expectations for a hotel stay.

Spacious suite, nice pools. Free shuttle to Royal Sands. Free Kids Club. Kids rate 9/10! **CONS:** **Food Quality - Major Issue:** Consistently mediocre across all restaurants - buffet, La Trattoria, Royal Sands. Looks nice, tastes bland. For context: We recently cruised Alaska on Princess with exceptional dining. This resort cost significantly more but delivered far worse food quality. We ate off-resort most nights just to have satisfying meals. **If food matters, book elsewhere.** **Service Issues:** Wildly inconsistent. Royal Market staff were rude to our children - unacceptable at family resort. **Timeshare Pressure:** Aggressive 2-hour sales pitch for expensive packages. High-pressure tactics, multiple salespeople. Concierge admitted earning commission. Prepare to decline firmly and repeatedly. **BOTTOM LINE:** Kids loved it. Parents disappointed given the premium pricing. **Would we rebook?** No - returning to cruises for better value. **Tips:** Set LOW food expectations, budget for off-resort dining, decline timeshare presentations firmly, bring Vaseline for kids' sand chafing. The resort is very nice and clean...Friendly staff, good landscaping. Little further away from the hotel zone and amenities. Very limited food options and choice of cuisine. I can't believe they still try to sell you a timeshare in this day and age. Although I paid extra for resort view room, I was given a room close to the road and was noisy at night. Hotel manager didn't respond when my kids became sick before the trip and wanted to postpone or cancel booking. Expedia was willing to help but not the property manager. Overall only 3 stars considering the many choices in Cancun.

Our housekeeper Juana was exceptional, our room was good, but the service at the restaurant La Palapa was terrible. We tip everyone but they seemed miserable and where we eat with the service is important to us. We made reservations at the Italian restaurant and their service was great. There was no music by the pool or entertainment by the pool. The bartenders were short handed and were not friendly. The gym was very small with two treadmills, two bikes, two elliptical, and one rower. The bellmen were very kind. Paula, the hostess at the restaurant was very rude. We made shuttle trips to Royal Sands to get treated nicer.

The room was very spacious and clean. The room service was very fast. I felt very safe at the resort with my family and we even went for a little walk outside the resort to see the Christmas lights. The view of the ocean while eating at La Palapa was spectacular. I love the free shuttle to and from the Royal Sands resort, which has clear blue waters unlike the Royal Cancun. This leads me to the water at the Royal Cancun where there’s a ton of seaweeds or grass that made the water dirty. The employees were all very friendly but I specifically want to give a shout out to Jesus (waiter at Italian restaurant), Alfredo and Miguel (waiters at La Palapa), Jeremiah (works by entrance), Omar and the girl who were in charge of games and activities for their kindness and generosity. With that being said there were a few things that left us a little disappointed. Our concierge Soccoro was friendly however she was quite pushy and kept bugging us even we made it clear we weren't interested. The lack of variety on the food left a sour taste. We were there for 7 days and after awhile we got tired eating the same thing for breakfast. The dinner buffet does change daily but the quality was poor which left us very disappointed. Lunch was the only time we can order of the menu but again their options were limited. Overall we had a wonderful stay and would definitely love to come back.

If you get there in an early flight don’t expect them to have a room ready. They will make you wait hours for a room. Staff not friendly at all. A simple hello would’ve be good. Food was good, some nights were hard to get your drinks served.

Older property, clean but worn. It was a good deal for the price. Food was ok, food service wasn’t very good, lots of kids.. beach wasn’t great but the pools were nice. As soon as you are walked to your room, the concierge sat you down and pushed you to go to a time share presentation which was ridiculous. Again, not bad for the price but, be prepared they all push for tips but don’t really do anything extra. This will be my last trip to Mexico.

Rooms very clean and spacious suites makes it a great option! Food is great and you can go to Royal sands as well. Reservations for restaurant were tough to get. We couldn’t eat at any place! Likely we were during a very busy week!
