The Parador Hotel is right in the center of Cancun, near the Municipal Palace, on one of the largest streets in town. Rooms are off an attractive central courtyard, with an enclosed pool patio behind. You are surrounded by blocks of small, local businesses, restaurants and bars of every description, or you can wander a bit further and find the boring US chain restaurants.
Rooms appear fairly standard, but there are some important differences: Rooms on the first floor opposite the hall to the reception area have knocking pipes, so when the weekend party folks decide to shower after the bars close, it sounds like a jack hammer operating just outside the window... room 101.
On the other side of the hall, the rooms appear a bit newer, but check light switches and outlets to ensure they work. The maintenance man worked on the switch for the light between the two beds for about two hours on a Sunday, and had to go out to buy a replacement... solid work ethic and he got the job done... room 116.
The hotel has a restaurant that is open for breakfast and lunch, few options, but with a very pleasant staff. Service can be slow, so don't seat yourself if there are more than six people who lack food or beverage as that can turn into a lengthy wait. Get coffee first, then order food. A better option for lunch may be the street vendor in the parking lot between the hotel and the palace... a few tables under some tarps, serving lots of freshly made Mexican cuisine.

Hotel is located in one of the best locations in town.
You can get on a bus for a few pesos and go to the beach at the hotel zone.
Another bus takes you to Walmart.
It's right by ADO (bus station.)
Tons of cheap food options around, supermarkets etc.
Room was simple, spacious and comfortable.
Had to leave hot water running for about 5 min until they became hot, but who cares?
Pool was a bit small but very pretty and well maintained.
You definitely get your money's worth
