Room was awful needed to be clean with Bleach and painted professionally also re caulking and grouting needed staff was ok room and clean was sub par at best and the Manager excuse was it's a party resort so they can't wash walls where the elevator is at and clean stainless steel with all the people traffic

Room wasn’t clean bed super uncomfortable but overall the quality of the food was really bad. Unfortunately wouldn’t recommend this place

Just came back from visiting this beautiful hotel and already making plans to go back! I love everything about it; the service, the rooms, the landscape, the entertainment, the food! Did I say the FOOD?!!! Only thing that needs improvement is the check-in process. Needs to be quicker and there should be a basic tour of the property because it is HUGE! Everything else is 10/10!

The rooms need a little tender Loven care. A lot of water damage in the bathroom and outside the bathroom. Shower did not drain. Some staff were very nice some were not so nice. Property grounds were very nice.

The food was absolutely terrible. I kept getting sick all week so I ended up barely eating anything cause I didn’t wanna get sick. But other than that overall not too bad. The beach was really nice. The staff was middle of the pack. I guess they were very Insistent and always had their hand out first before even helping you.

Staff was horrible. Seemed like everyone fat the front desk didn’t want to be there. Multiple people from my party contracted travelers diarrhea including myself. The smell of ammonia coming from the buffets near the large pool was almost hospital worthy. The alcohol was cut/watered down. You’ll get sick before you get drunk. The food at the sports bar isn’t fit for animals so basically after 10:30pm there’s nothing to eat. No room service. Elevators didn’t work. My daughter had to have her blankets replaced because the smell was unimaginable. You could smell the mold throughout the entire resort. Stay away from this place unless you’re poor and a teenager who doesn’t know any better.

The bathroom needed a through cleaning. It appeared that they only changed the towels and mopped the floors. It was very visible that the area around sink hadn't been cleaned in a while. There were also alot of mosquitoes in the room. While the floors and bedroom area were fairly clean, only 2 out of the 5 electrical points in my roombwere working.

The staff didn’t support the room needs.For example called for water 2 days in a row and never received it. The food on the buffet was sitting out too long, old , and undercooked pastas and breads. There were roaches in the lobby. The ceiling fan didn’t work and the air took a long time to get cold. The towels could have been newer and towel service had to constantly add. Long lines to get into steakhouse and you couldn’t reserve online so never received a reservation.

My wife and I are avid travelers and have visited RIU's, in different countries, on a couple of occasions. We normally don't comment or write reviews. Though this is not a bashing session, I would like to mention a few things. There weren't any rags in the room and when we asked for some, they never brought them. We saw several roaches in the hotel as well. The food was subpar......either undercooked, overcooked or hard as if has been sitting out. When asked for water to be brought to the room, they came about 12 hours later. As far as making reservations, it was confusing as to how to gain it at several restaurants. There also seemed to be a horrid sewage smell in the elevators. Finally, we weren't given the room that was selected. We selected a room with an ocean view, but instead got room with a view of palm trees. We really love the RIU's, but this one wasn't a pleasurable experience. The highlight of the trip was the jerk chicken by the pool! How can we make this right?

We had to switch rooms 3 times. The first the smell was horrible in the room. The second room had no ac, the phone didn’t work, the shower lights didn’t work, and the finale was when the power went out. They switched us to a third room which was better but overall I wouldn’t stay there again.
