"We used to come here for many years with our kids in the early 2000's. Back then the resort was in great condition. The street pavement was smooth, for kids to ride scooters and skateboards. All the landscape lighting worked. All the paint was good, etc. They also had a guard gate which limited access to guests only so there was very little traffic. Now it is looking much older, the pavement needs a resurfacing, finish carpentry needs to be redone, etc. It was not badly run down, just not up to the price. They charge $45 a night to park by your room now. That used to be free. There is a big public parking lot, but depending on where your room is, it could be 500 yards away. That may not be a problem for some, and it may be a problem for others. The California Coastal commission probably forced them to open the property to the public for beach access, and they put up big ugly signs everywhere...now you get people wandering through the place. It just doesn't feel as safe and secure as it used to. The location is great. It can not be beat. We just went to the Barefoot Grill for lunch and dinner, and the food was excellent. The views are wonderful. But it does feel like time is taking its toll on the place a bit."

"The hotel was good for what we needed it for and was pretty accessible for the most part but could use a little more detail as far as accessibility. My boyfriend is paralyzed and we had an ADA room. However these were the flaws I found; the doors into the lobby could use an automated opening, we asked for the underneath of our bed frame to be removed because my boyfriend couldn’t get in and out of bed because it was too high for him and they didn’t remove it or try to, the shower wouldn’t have been accessible for him if I wasn’t there to move the shower head for him so a detachable shower head would be beneficial for wheelchair users with limited mobility. "

"Pros: The staff was great, rooms were clean, decor was nice, a/c worked. Cons: the elevator and room was super small. Like abnormally small. Made me a little claustrophobic when I was in the elevator. The valet parking was expensive (50 dollars) especially when you are expected to tip- and you should). There was a weird hidden fee of 24 dollars so the 75 dollar deposit went out the door. Started out affordable but got too expensive too quick especially for what it is. "
