Pros: Quiet
Cons: Cleaning the pool areas and the outside seating
Location: Great location
Rustic surroundings. Very peaceful but due to the large number of birds in residence there was a lot of "bird poop" everywhere especially in the afternoon. The room was basic. Housekeeping staff was very reliable Also thought that paying for parking was a little ridiculous as this was not an area where there is high demand for parking

Great location, 5 heated pools, bikes to rent.

Pros: 5 heated pools
Cons: They are constantly up grading rooms but our bathroom needed to be done. Hopefully next time we get a newlyredone room.
Loved quick drive to sea world and close to park, beach, and bay. Had a great stay.

Thank you for your fantastic 5-star review. We're glad you liked our five different pools and close proximity to SeaWorld. We're actively renovating our guest rooms and hope you visit Paradise again to experience the improvements when they're completed.

Great Location, but

Pros: Nice pool and staff
Cons: Fees galore- Sad you can't know what your spending until you get there. Parking- $25,$38 or $48. Resort Fees $32.
Location: Beach, Sea world
Discounted overnight parking $25 a night, and Resort Fee $32 per night, lessen the experience. Expect to get a charge equal to your original cost. Ridiculous.

Nice place but...

Pros: Good location, good staff
Cons: Put the fees right in the overall cost up front, not the back end fine print.
Location: Right on the bay, which is nice. Close to Sea World, Mission Beach, and Ocean Beach
We stayed here due to cost and location. It is a nice place with many things to do, and centrally located. I do wish they would include the $32 per night resort fee and the $38 per night parking fees in the actually booking cost, rather than putting those in the fine print. If that had been the case, we probably would not have stayed here. The staff was good, but the place overall was too busy.

Beautiful tropical style hotel next to beach

It was the most beautiful place to stay...only thing that was madning was the hidden resort taxes and fees. I payed an additional $ 378.00 upon checkout. I was not prepared for that.

Neat resort but $80/night in surprise fees

Parking and resort fee was annoying but really cool place to walk around.

A wonderful place to stay

Pros: The staff is phenomenal...always willing to provide helpful tips for the best possible stay.
Cons: The seclusion is both a pro and a con. A wider selection (and price range?) of food would also be a nice addition. Walk-in shower would be a plus
My wife and I visited this hotel as a sort of 2nd honeymoon and had a wonderful stay. The hotel is what you might call a "destination" spot...but this also means that it is somewhat isolated from non-affiliated restaurants, etc. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but something to keep in mind if you don't have a relatively high food budget or your own vehicle. We used Uber a LOT, but that wasn't too bad. The location is near MANY San Diego hotspots such as Sea World, San Diego Zoo, Gaslamp district, and La Jolla cove. My favorite (by far!) was La Jolla, which is absolutely breathtaking. The facilities are very nice and well-kept. Is it perfect?...no...that's unrealistic. But, it is a beautiful area and I would highly recommend it. My wife and I plan to visit in the future with our kids -- they stayed home this time around. By the way, not every room has its own beach patio, but everyone staying does have beach access...it's just a short walk. During our next stay, I hope to get one of the rooms that have direct beach access, where you can have a campfire and enjoy the sunset and starry night.

Not your typical hotel

It's was not what we thought it would be, the kids were not too thrilled. It was too secluded, it's built more for conventions and older travelers.

Gouging customers for parking fees

$37 per night for parking fee and $30 resort fee per night... Enough is enough...

I'm sorry to see that the parking and Passport to Paradise fees negatively affected your stay. The Passport allows access to the fitness center, WiFi, athletic courts and equipment and much more. That being said, if you'd like to save on these fees in the future, we recommend the Park and Play package. We hope you'll consider joining us again in the future!
