Great Location

Pros: Within reasonable distance to major tourists attractions.
Cons: Make shared restrooms a bit bigger.
Location: Suggest going to Fisherman's wharf, visiting Golden Gate Bridge.
Rooms are a bit small but overall comfortable beds, nice continental breakfast offered, and staff was amazing! (Let us borrow computer and printer and answered any questions we had regarding the area). Only down fall was having to share a restroom/shower with others, but private bathrooms also offered depending on room. Access to subway, bus, trolly, etc less than 5 min walk, mall and theater nearby. Took us about 30 mins to get to major areas and a nice bar next door. If you're looking for something cozy and don't mind taking public transportation I'd definitely recommend a stay here.

Great hotel close to main streets

Great hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Everyone was nice at all times and willing to answer any questions we had. Hotel was within a 2 min walk from the Main Streets accessible to various tourists locations. Buses, cable cars and train run right by hotel.

Very quaint comfortable Victorian hotel.

Pros: cleanliness and ambiance, friendly staff
Cons: would like access to coffee and tea, in room or lobby most of the time, not just 6:00 - 9:00 am. add non skid to bath tub. more Sunday news papers,
Rooms are small, but that adds to the charm. Plenty of room for sleeping and showering. One of the cleanest hotels I have been in in a long while. It was a delightful 6 days. Very close to much fun shopping, and cable car and street cars. Though it is not this hotel's problem, it would be even better if the city of San Fransisco would take care of the mentally ill, and clean up Mission Street.

Pros: It was clean and friendly staff. The area to us was comfortable to be staying in.
Cons: None really
In reviewing this hotel before booking it was pretty mixed but the most important information to me was if the area was some what safe/comfortable to be walking around in. It was a very comfortable area to be out late walking around in. I won't say safe but there was barely/if at all any drifters on the street. The room is small but in my opinion its SF everywhere is cramped! My husband and I found it be cozy and perfect. We had our own bathroom (make sure you select the room that doesn't include the wording "Shared Bathroom" and you will have your own). The hotel staff was very friendly and welcoming. We had gone to a play at the Orpheum and then to a Giants game. The location was perfect for walking to both activities. The bar next store is AMAZING! I highly recommend checking it out. We plan to stay at The Mosser again on our next visit to the city!

Nice hotel- shopping and restaurants nearby

Stayed for one night in San Francisco- the hotel was clean and staff was friendly and helpful. My immediate impression of the hotel was that the rooms were very small, almost like a dorm room, but because my stay was so short and the room was clean, it was manageable.

Old small hotel

Old hotel with tiny rooms, lots of street noise, and no air conditioning.

The Mosser

The Mosser was great. I stayed in a compact room which was very clean and orderly. I had to share a toilet with other people but that was never a problem. The staff were friendly and the location is prime for anyone visiting. I will be staying there again.

The noise was the worst all morning starting at 6a

Pros: my wife was scared
sucked with the the bed feeling like rocks and the guy at the desk annoyed at me when bringing it up like he knew . The window broke to the outside ghetto and for the fan in the bathroom--- want my money back-- went for my wife's birthday and she was scared the whole time

Bare bones lodging

Pros: Price was OK
Cons: Full upgrade.
Great location in the heart of SF. This is a very old hotel, with tiny rooms, and each room has a sink only. There is one men's toilet in a tiny room (toilet only, no sink or shower) and one women's toilet on each floor, which is shared by all guests on that floor. There is one tub/shower shared by all guests on the floor. No air conditioning-- fans in the rooms. Bed was comfortable. Staff was helpful and friendly. They were unable to provide a toothbrush, or a newspaper on sunday. Coffee in the lobby in the morning. All in all, very inconvenient because of the shared toilet thing. I wouldn't return.

They're not very clear with you if you have a shared bathroom or one available in your room as the description tells you, the walls are very thin and some of the people are absolute freak they're not very clear with you if you have a shared bathroom or one available in your room as the description tells you, the walls are very thin and some of the people are very rude.....
