I won’t be staying there again. It’s in a bad part of town with too many homeless. Sidewalks were dirty. My room was very small. The sink is in the bedroom and so small that it was difficult to wash your face and shave. Iw

the location is unbeatable with a bus stop with a direct connection with Caltrain, Powell ST BART is around the corner. Famous streetcars just around the corner and the super useful F-line in the corner. The hotel is old and it shows but for me, it was no big deal

It's an older property, no air conditioning. I opened a window and turned on the fan to cool the room and discovered the radiators were on, so I turned them off. Much better. Staff are great, but make sure you know if you're getting a room with a bathroom or sharing toilets and showers in the hall. The bar and grill next door is owned by the same folks, but you can't enter from inside the hotel, nor is there room service. Not the best area of town, but it is close to everything. $150 per night was expensive for what I received, but I got much more than I expected since it's downtown San Francisco and it was during a convention. It's just a very expensive area. Bed was very comfortable. Water pressure was great. Despite what I've read in other reviews, I never waited more than a few seconds for the elevator. Any future business trips to SF--or even a getaway weekend--I'd certainly consider staying here again. Word of warning: Parking is $57/night. If you're coming to SF, don't bother with a rental--transit's just easier and you WILL get parking tickets.
