There was no screen on the window, the safe didn't work (dead batteries possibly), there was no seal or weatherstripping on the door to the adjoining room so when the person in the room next door uses the bathroom, the room floods with light (and noise from the bathroom). No AC so it was balmy in the room. No rod in the closet for the (only 3) hangers to actually use. Had to find ways to hang clothes from the dusty door hinges, doorknobs (ew) or light fixtures (unsafe). There are outlets in the room with no coverplate (unsafe), the door sticks so you have to make sure to pull it into the jamb so that it locks. And most of all, there was no fitted sheet on the bed so when it comes loose, the icky raw mattress is exposed, which is gross. There was no way to dim the lights, so either the room is 100% bright or 100% dark. Maybe the room was cheap by San Francisco standards, but there are junkies shambling around the door, no hotel staff in the lobby, and human feces on the sidewalk outside, sad sights really. Would not recommend.

I love the location of the property for a hotel room it was decent. We were only using the room to sleep. I think the only thing I would want from the room is a mini fridge or an icemaker of some sort in the lounge area so that I could’ve had a cold drinks when I got back from visiting the city.

When first arrived at hotel, doors were locked and sign posted on window saying their front desk was closed and needed to go find this other hotel in order to check in. Would have been nice to be informed about this before arrival so we’re not dragging all our luggage around trying to check in. Bathroom issues: Plug ins did not work HAIR/PUBES in sink AND shower Was only given two towels and floor mat. No hand towels or face towels?? Worst of it all - COULD NOT TAKE A SHOWER ONE MORNING DUE TO NO HOT WATER!! No signage posted for hot water outage.. my guess was too many others used all the hot water?! Overall, not impressed. Have never stayed at such a dirty, falling apart, lack of hot water hotel.

You have to check in at a different hotel for some reason we had no clue, a passerby told us. At the actual hotel there wasn’t any staff for our entire two night stay but they texted us to ask if we needed anything. The bed was super comfy and we had no trouble sleeping at night. Only complaint is the bathroom was so gross, there was hair everywhere and the shower didn’t drain…

The hotel is in the middle of Union Square near shopping, restaurants, and transportation options. It was quiet, safe, clean, comfortable, and we loved the large windows and high ceilings. It was perfect for our stay and we will definitely be back again.

This is a no frills hotel with no staff on site, no AC, no fan, and bathroom is not in unit but shared down the hall. The location was great and the room was comfortable but small.
