The on-site restaurant had wonderful food with a very kind waitress but the man who sat us made us feel very unwelcome. He had us waiting for an uncomfortable amount of time at the front of the restaurant while guests looked at us unsure why we were still standing there then he proceeded to ask us if we were ACTUALLY staying at the hotel & which rooms & what names were they under as if they were not ours. If this was simply to have the option to put our food on our room bill that would have been one thing but the way he looked at us & manner in which he spoke to us showed he wasn't sure we could even afford the food they offered. I was not aware if we needed to have a reservation but saw no signs or information stating such. Maybe it was the fact that we had 1 child & a baby with us but they made little noise & even got compliments by other guests of how sweet they were. The man who greeted us did not make us feel like we were allowed there at all but I'm grateful for the waitress & fabulous food. We decided we wouldn't return during our visit due to his manner & judgment. This was our first experience at a fairly nice hotel as a family & truthfully wasn't worth the rate we paid.

Luxurious, elegant property. Elegant, artistic decor. This hotel is really nice, has lots of extra little touches that convey attention to detail. The room was beautiful and very comfortable. Especially clean for a pet friendly hotel, I will definitely stay here every time I come to San Francisco

Inside was quite clean and inviting. Significant transient challenges in the entire downtown area leaves the exterior and area in general dirty. The city is marking some efforts, but not enough.

The staff was wonderful! So kind, available and helpful. Food and service at Anzu was top notch. Breakfast via room service was very fast but not very tasty. We chose this hotel for its indoor pool, but it was freezing and unusable.
