Attention to Detail

Pros: Jungle setting with native animals roaming about. Lovely large pool and great beach. The entire resort was kept very clean, secure and safe.
Cons: Difficult to reserve more than 3 nights a week at specialty international restaurants.
Location: Great location less than 5-minute walk from beach. Tulum Mayan ruins and many cenotes and protected bays for good snorkeling within half hour drive.
My family thoroughly enjoyed our week-long stay at Iberostar Tucan. Every one of the plethora of staff, from food servers, maids, entertainers, and registration personnel, were friendly, smiling, and went out of their way to be helpful. We especially liked the resort's design around the natural jungle foliage and native docile animals walking around. The resort provides plenty of sports and activities to chose from, and the live nighttime entertainment is good quality, providing a balanced combination of Latin, American, and international themes and flavor, a strong emphasis on comedy and dance, and focus on audience participation. My 8-year old daughter loved the giant pool, ice cream stand, and abundant wildlife. Great concierge service designed a day trip especially tailored to our desired activities and interests. The food, both at the buffets and specialty international restaurants, was very good.

Very nice hotel, but...

This is a wonderful hotel if you are 70 years old, have very low energy or are just exhausted and want to spend a week doing nothing. If that's not you, it's not worth it to pay for All-Inclusive. You can get a much cheaper hotel in the center. you would be a couple of blocks from the beach and surrounded by hundreds of restaurants and bars. Another reason not to go for an All-Inclusive hotel is that there is so much stuff to do in the area (parks, activities, tours...) and you would definitely be missing out if you just stay in the hotel.

Wow!! 5th time in playa, one of the best hotels!

After reading all reviews before I booked , now I know every single complain people posted were ridiculous. traveled with my 5yr and 9yr old. Ground were amazing. Pools was beautiful and deep enough but at same time had parts that were not deep for kids. There is s parate pool with slides for kids next to a playground by kids club. Never ever had problems finding beach chair or pool chair. Beach was super clean and amazing. There is so many choices on food for you to pick from. Rooms were nice and clean .

Ideal place to relax and enjoy life!

Pros: We love the wildlife on the grounds, so much fun seeing monkeys swinging through the trees. It's gorgeous to walk through the jungle. So peaceful!
Cons: The majority of the pool is very deep. Make sure you buy or bring a float with you.
Location: There are an endless amount of nearby attractions in the area. Enjoy them all!
We had a fabulous time. It was our second visit and they have made a lot of upgrades since last year. It's a bit fancier but maintains its friendly atmosphere. They upgraded the food, lots of culinary delights. We loved the food and enjoyed the restaurants as well as the buffets. The staff is incredible! So helpful and always smiling and saying Hola. The staff at the reception desk are so helpful and kind. Thank you to them! The pool is large enough so you never feel cramped and the pool games were fun. The ocean was so clear and not too choppy so we could swim in it every day. So refreshing. We didn't have children with us but it looks like it's a great place to enjoy with children. The whole area is filled with so many fun activities and sightseeing opportunities. We loved it and will definitely be back!

On the beach!

Pros: The surroundings were beautiful!
Cons: The lighting in the bathroom was not very good and not enough plug-ins next to the bed!
Location: Everything is within 5-10 min. in a taxi!
We had a great room, close to everything, right on the beach, junior suite! We will go back again next year! The food at the buffets and all the specialty restaurants was wonderful. This property is beautiful and relaxing!

Excellent All-Inclusive Resort

Iberostar Tucan is a very nice property - clean rooms, good food, excellent beach. A unique feature of this resort is that it has a piece of jungle right in the middle of it - with a lot of wild and semi-wild animals (monkeys, iguanas, etc.) roaming around. There is a price to pay for it - there are some mosquitoes too - be careful after dark. The beach is also great here - very clean sand, no stones - so much better than many other parts of Mexico.
