For the amount that you pay, the food was terrible, the constant noise, and the lack of amenities don’t make it worth it. This hotel has not improved since the first time we visited back in 2016.

We loved the jungle setting to the grounds, the beds were very comfortable, the buffet food was very good and varied pretty well every day. Excellent pools and access to the beach. Super friendly staff everywhere.

Tourists can always walk in the shade of the trees, not under the scorching sun. The second advantage is the relatively small area. It's a short walk to the beach. It's convenient that the buffet, pools, and beach are all close together.

My only major complaint was the food. The selection was really not that great and the quality was average. We stayed at the Reef Coco Beach in March and they by far had a better selection and quality of food. Another complaint was that we were not allowed to sit in the hot tub with our all inclusive package, it was not that way at the Coco beach resort. The beach was beautiful, clean rooms, and atmosphere with the jungle was great. I will revisit the Coco Beach resort but not the Playacar.

Sound proof rooms as best that can be done. The doors to rooms do nothing but bang when closed. It was so noisy. Doors n people/kids walking by rooms were noisy because there is no soundproofing of the doors n walls. Place anti slip material on stairs. They are terribly slippery when they get wet. I almost fell couple times. Would have been nice to have blow dryer in rooms. AC worked fine n tv. There was no hot water for a shower on one day. Staff was courteous.

Overall the property was fine. Grounds were clean and rooms were cleaned daily. However, bar service was subpar. Bartenders gave preference to those leaving extra tips. I lost a pair of Tiffany shades in the buffet's restroom. The staff claimed a guest did find them and it was the guest's responsibility to return them to lost and found. There was no food/drink service at the beach. You have to walk to the bar and snack bar to order and then carry your food and drinks back to the beach. Limited food options at the buffet and most were not great. Food at Mexican restaurant was great. Italian restaurant was okay.
