Classic Oceanfront Hotel with Excellent Service
I loved Playa Palms and want to return when I can. The best thing about the hotel is the people, starting with Alfredo and continuing to every staff I met, they are welcoming, friendly and helpful. I have never had a better experience with hotel staff. They dont have the luxury hotel type of service, but everything I want. The hotel itself is classic ocean front. Not a new, hotel with no character, this one has all kinds of character. As a result, the condition is a touch dated, but very well maintained. The value is unbelieveable, and I got what I wanted a great location for a good price. Other places might have bells and whistles that Playa Palms dont have, but you pay for them. This was exactly what I wanted. Oh, almost forgot. Its two blocks from Avenida Cinco, right in the middle of all the action, but far enough from the noise to not bother you.

all of the staff were friendly and helpful. The night security staff didn't speak a lot of English but they were very helpful. We arrived after 9 pm so the office was closed. The night security person showed us to our room, explained how to lock the doors and took our luggage to the room. All with minimal English. Most of the rooms have a view of the ocean. As others have said there are boats tied up in front of the hotel but in the morning they went out and we were able to swim directly in front of the hotel. There was some seaweed during our week there but it was removed everyday. As someone who has lived on the ocean the seaweed there didn't smell as much as some I've experienced. Oceans have seaweed. We loved the location of the hotel. It is very quiet and just a block from 5th Avenue and in a very walkable area. The rooms were sound proof and well designed. and the view from our balcony was amazing. We are looking forward to our next trip there.

Loved the property! There is beach with lounge chairs, but boats are on it, so don't really count on swimming. Not a big downer as there are plenty of beaches further down. Internet is complicated, we could not get it in our room, that was the only problem for us. If you decide to go for breakfast, pass on the Continental one, but there is a bakery, Carlotta's around the corner that has great croissant and cinnamon rolls.

Lovely property. Quiet but yet close 3 blocks from the fun hussle and bustle of Ave 5. We had a unit w a side ocean view. First unit has a bit of a musty smell; second unit was perfect. Very nicely laid out; units in back of property would have limited views. Grounds and pool are beautiful. Staff was outstanding. No breakfast room but you can arrange to have breakfasts brought to your unit which was really nice. Would definitely visit again!
