The staff in the restaurants, bellboys, etc. were very kind and attentive. The thermostat in my room went out, someone immediately came to fix it, but when I returned to my room, the new thermostat had shorted and my room was full of smoke and smelled like an electrical fire. I called the desk, told them what I found and asked for another room. The man said that they'd need to see if they could fix it. I explained that there was no way I was staying there since the smoke was burning my eyes, etc. A very nice gentleman came up, called someone and confirmed that I will need a new room. I waited in the hall for about an hour (until 11pm) until someone came to show me to my new room. The next morning, I saw there was nothing in the mini fridge, no beach towels (my other room came with 2), and no robe and slippers. I called the desk and was told they'd come with the water for the fridge, that this room does not come with a robe or slippers, and that I would need to go to the lobby (which is quite a walk away), ask for a card that I have to then exchange for towels. I explained how my room got switched and that these amenities came with my other room. The lady said I was downgraded and that was that. The lobby wouldn't give me new cards for towels since I never had a card to begin with! It took over 3 hours and constant explaining of the smoke in the room, etc. for them to believe that I just wanted the amenities I paid for returned to me. Communication was poor.

It was our first time staying at this resort. We were very nervous because of the under construction reviews. But when we arrived the staff were friendly and welcomed our group great. Buffet was good. Room service was great. Our rooms were very clean and AC worked. The beach was pretty bad with sargassum, but we went out during the day to do activities outside the resort or enjoyed the pools. WiFi had some glitches. Our last night we had a problem with our room door not unlocking, but they fixed it pretty fast. The resort needs some updates and I’m pretty sure it will be very nice once they’re done with construction. One thing avoid some staff that try to set you up for a “welcome Cancun tour” and then offer timeshare. Don’t waste your time. They have taxi services there. Prices are fair. Overall the kids and my parents enjoyed it.

Over priced for quality of service and a lot of the food. reservations for dinners were mostly good but not consistent with quality from day to day. the free spa treatment you get from booking with expedia was no real treatment at all. about 10 minute foot rub in a very uncomfortable wood chair that does not adjust. so boo on expedia and this place for that. saying you will get a free spa day when booking a 2 week vacation. feel kinda jipped. ive had much better all inclusives for cheaper and a few days longer still. would have been nice to know half the resort is under construction. grounds were pretty and wildlife was nice but thats about it.

We live in Playa del Carmen and we had friends staying here. They asked us to come visit so we made a 2 night reservation. We had never stayed at an all inclusive venue so we got the top tier Platinum package. $250 USD per night. Was told that everything was included. LIES. The first night there we could not get food anywhere except room service because you cannot make a dinner reservation until you are there and there were no reservations available that night. So we tried to make reservations for the next night and we were told there were no openings. We were tired Ann’s cranky so we ordered room service. Club sandwich and Nachos. I wish I would have taken a picture. Looked like a toddler made the sandwich and the nachos had very little toppings yet somehow they were soggy. The next morning we tried to get breakfast, again, nothing. We were told we could get food at sports bar. Yeah, sports bar. They had serve yourself hotdogs that looked worse than an over cooked convenience store hotdog, the burgers were dried out, so more nachos was the only option. We decided to talk to management at this point. He got us in to the reservation that our family had made fire dinner that night. Whew…crises avoided. Nope. Showed up to dinner. I was wearing a tank top and so was one of the young ladies in our group. I was told I could not wear a tank top to dinner but she could because she was a women. That was enough. We checked out and went home which was 10 mins away. Terrible!!

The hotel resort itself is beautiful but there are so many issues. First, there was so much seaweed that instead of putting it off to the side like in Cuba, they just piled it on at the front of the entire beach creating mounds that smelled really bad, so laying on lawn chairs was unbearable. The whole ocean is full of rocks and I ended up cutting myself. The cleaning staff does not understand the do not enter and do not clean sign, they kept coming in to clean the room regardless of the sign being put on the door. It wasn’t just me, when I was checking in next to me was a couple complaining about the same thing! The resort itself had hardly any activities aside from Zumba and some water activity or beach volleyball (again bad smell due to seaweed) whereas in melia resort where I stayed in Cuba you had not only dance lessons at the beach or pool, but lawn type games that you could win bottles of rum, Spanish lessons, morning yoga, of course, aqua aerobics, and beach/pool volleyball. And the last thing is, the nighttime shows were pretty boring. They just had singers every night. In Melia for example, there was a jazz band, and there was a fashion show than there was acrobats hanging from the ceiling using those ropes, there was a Michael Jackson show, a flute player, a singer, just something different every night. The coffee pack in my room ended up being ripped. I had two hotel personnel come in to try to work the coffee machine and they didn’t know how! Never coming back.

I was treated very unfairly.There was mold, in the room, the sheets were dirty. The housekeeper came into my room when I had the thing on the door stadium. Do Not Disturb. I would never recommend this hotel or go back here
