"Popped in for a first time visit to New York for an event. The place was affordable for being downtown. "I stayed 2 nights, May 29th and 30th and checked out Sunday 31st. When me and my husband got to the hotel around 9am, we asked the lady at the desk, she had glasses on and she was very pleasant, she told us that we could check our bags and that she would call us if we could check in earlier, very helpful, her name started with an S, but awesome customer service. The guy at bag check was really nice to. The same lady called me around twelve and said that we could check in earlier, so that was nice. When we got to the hotel soon after the same lady from 9am wasn't at the check in desk. There was another woman there, she spoke Spanish, and she wasn't as pleasant as the lady in the morning. So I walked to the desk and said I got a call to check in earlier, she asked my name, and told me my remaining balance for the room, I paid and she gave me the room keys 🔑, we got our bag from bag check and went on the elevator to go to the room. We are in the elevator, press the floor number and nothing happened, the elevator started moving to whatever floor and a worker gets on the elevator and taps her card on a box thing in the elevator, so I asked her how to get to the floor of our room and she said we have to tap our room key on the box thing and wait for it to turn green 💚 then press the floor we are going to, we did that and it didn't work, she said she front desk person didn't activate the room keys. So we had to go back down stairs to the 1st floor and go back to the front de"
