Great Times Square location

Check-in was a bit of a hassle--very long line at 4:00 p.m. We didn't realize we could circumvent it due to having done a "pre-check-in" earlier in the day. Loved the elevator system--never a wait, never had to stuff people in or stop at multiple floors. Very convenient location on 8th Avenue and our room was quiet at night. Didn't use many of the amenities, but we did appreciate that the bar converted to a breakfast area in the morning, so I could get a coffee and bagel.

Don't waste your money.

Pros: Location was nice. Walking distance to Times Square, the main theaters, Rockefeller Center, and the Empire State Building.
Cons: The elevator situation is a nightmare. Also, the overall feel of the hotel is not what is portrayed online. Very cramped and dark.
My cousin and I stayed in this hotel during our one week vacation to NYC. The photos provided online all looked very nice and made the hotel seem to be very trendy and chic. We arrived at the hotel only to be thrown right in the middle of a crowd of at least 100 people. The check in process for this hotel is a NIGHTMARE! We waited in line for at least 30 minutes, only to have the woman checking us in be very unfriendly. After we checked in, we were sent to the elevator area, where 100 people crowded around 8 doors waiting to go up to their rooms. This was also a nightmare. We waited on average about 10 minutes each time we wanted to either go up or down. The rooms were okay, but nothing impressive. You don't come to NYC to stay in your room so we made do with what we had. The rooms were cramped and had very little storage. The closets were a small hole in the wall with a curtain. The ironing board had no pad and the hair dryer was very weak. We went to the Glam and Go salon that is located in the basement (very hard to find due to the fact that none of the elevators going to that level were working) and were extremely disappointed. We were supposed to receive express blowouts, but received Shirley Temple curls and zero customer service. IT WAS A JOKE! The woman doing our hair had no people skills and wouldn't even carry on a conversation. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE! The location is very close to Times Square, but I will never stay here again, nor will I recommend.

Around the corner from Times Square!

The hotel lobby looks beautiful, very modern design. The rooms were somewhat lackluster, and very small, but it is to be expected for most hotels in the city. We stayed in the heart of Manhattan, so we were very close to theatres, shopping, and a whole array of restaurants! Overall, the hotel was good.

Excitement all around, quiet inside

Pros: The location is perfect. The room decor was contemporary and interesting.
Cons: Check-in line was unreasonably slow. Not all desks were open, and there were plenty of people waiting to be served.
Location: Around the corner from bakeries, restaurants, fast and slow food, and theatres. Times Square and lots of shopping is minutes away.
We were only in our hotel to sleep, and we found it to be surprisingly quiet in our room, even though the hotel was full. The room was New York small, as expected, but there was plenty of drawer space to unpack bags, and enough room to rest comfortably. Black-out blinds and a light-filtering shade made for perfect lighting anytime. The check-in process was exceedingly slow. The line was always long (I attempted and gave up several times before it finally became necessary to check in!) There seemed to be several open spots at the desk where more employees could have potentially been checking guests in. I also suspect some of the employees were in training. This led to a 30-45 minute wait to check in, and that was the best I found it all day. The location was absolutely perfect. We stepped out of our door right into the middle of all the theatres, with plenty of good food options all around. The mix of excitement outside our doors and quiet inside made this the perfect hotel.

Business trip

The Hotel staff was wonderful,but the hallways were dirty carpets were ripped and there was no hot water for my shower in the morning. Also my room looked out onto a landing where there was trash and used cleaning equipment (mops rags etc). Had to pull my shade down the whole time I was there because it was so disgusting.

Location: Location is great! All the shows, food, and time square are so close!
Very modern in the welcome area and the elevator system was nice. The staff that checked us in was very friendly. However I did not feel our room was as clean as it should be. The carpet, walls and shower curtain liner were all still somewhat dirty. The drawers would not stay closed, and most places had dust.

Unmaintained Posh at a Great Location

The entire look of the hotel is very modern, artsy, and hip. The detail noted within the rooms is that of neglect. Doors are hard to roll on tracks, wallpaper is coming up at the corners and where pieces intersect, and the desks and drawers have corners of paneling broken off. Other than that lack of maintaining the rooms, the elevators are innovative, the lobby is comfortable and invites congregations of people to sit and enjoy nearby. The food amenities are fine if you want to pay for just juice and a muffin or some fruit but otherwise you will be eating across the street or a few blocks down. This is in the Broadway show district and theatres are all around just a block away. Restaurants are all over. Times Square, the bright and shining tourist attraction of New York City, is a city block away of a few minutes walk. This is worth using in a travel website bundle but would not stand on its own when other hotels are at the same price and shopped individually.
