Owner not serious, Place is terrible
Check in at 3:00 pm came and went. Code didn't work owner not found. They use a company, Evolve. Called them. Also couldn't get hold of the owner. Oh well. wait. 3 hours in, the owner finally calls and says the code works.
Not a good start. But it gets so much worse.
First of all, the house is in disrepair across all of it, the carpets are filthy, the stairs particularly, there were hairs all over, the bathrooms were poor and generally yucky.
First house I've been too where the thermostat was under lock and key. Thank you for confirming you couldn't care less about guests but just your property.
VRBO and their company were no help. Complained. The people I talked to basically said "yeah, that's how that goes". NO ONE tried to do anything to make it right.
The carpet on the stairs had a runner that wasn't tacked down. I started to walk at the top of the stairs and on stair too, the runner gave out, sending me tumbling. I'm a 61 year old folks. I almost fell the entire length of the stairs but caught myself with just a strained back and right shoulder. I understand they "opened a case".
THERE IS A SERIES OF FREIGHT TRAINS THAT RUN BY THE PROPERTY ABOUT 100 YARDS AWAY ALL DAY INCLUDING AT 1:30 AM, 3:00 AM, AND 4:30 AM... when I finally gave up.
The owner clearly doesn't care. they are in it for a side hustle.
We travel over 300+ days per year. We don't need someone's side hustle, we need real accommodation.
