The whole of the hotel was beautifully designed and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast had an amazing choice. Location was also excellent so close to the train and bus station.

The housekeeping was good and room satisfactory although I thought the lighting wasn't great. The second night we were overcharged at the bar and my husband was given a premium beer that he didn't ask for

First room we were given the toilet was leaking. Room changed quickly. Asked reception for an upgrade as it was my Birthday but they said they didn’t have any and gave us two free drinks vouchers to have at the bar; which was very nice. When we went to the bar I asked for a glass of Prosecco and my partner an apple juice, the lady said Prosecco is only sold by the bottle but as it is my bday she can give me one of the small bottle of Prosecco botella gold complimentary. She was very kind and brought us a slice of cheesecake. Unfortunately the bar manager ruined all her efforts and told her to tell us that the small Prosecco was not included for the voucher and that I would have to pay, I didn’t make a fuss as the italian waitress was very kind and her intentions were good and I didn’t want her to get into trouble, but the manager should have just allowed it and not asked her to charge me £11. Defeats the whole point of getting a free drink offered by reception. Rooms are tired and no hand shower!

Slider/runner mechanism on one of the drawers is faulty. The power cable at the rear of the TV was disconnected rendering the TV inoperable - until I manually reconnected it. Room was clean and tidy. Windows can be opened - unlike many hotels where they are sealed.
