"Good location. Ok hotel"
An old hotel which could use updating. Positive: large room size, comfortable suite, clean Close to Columbus circle and plenty of places to eat. Negatives: staff act as though they are totally bored and guests are a nuisance, confirming stereotype of New York hospitality. No WiFi in rooms. ice machine only on ground floor. Lobby unaccomodating. Also, had to cut short our stay due to oncoming blizzard but had to pay for final night anyway.

"Lovely home base near Times Square"
I recently spent a pre-Valentine's weekend at the Belvedere with my lovely bride, and it was a thoroughly good experience. Our room was cozy and comfortable, but spacious enough for a desk and a proper armchair with footstool. The bed was comfy and firm, though I would like to have had a thicker comforter or another blanket. Still, turning up the thermostat a couple of degrees made it a non-issue. The bathroom lacks a lot of countertop space, so the sink can get crowded if you have a lot of product to manage. The shower was wonderful -- properly hot water and lots of it. Our room also had a cozy little coffee station just inside the door, with its own sink, fridge, and microwave. Having a cup of coffee and warming up some dessert before bed was a welcome treat. The room was also pretty quiet; horns honking were pretty faint, and we didn't notice much noise from the hallway or adjoining rooms. The location is great! It's a very quick walk to Times Square and the theaters, and when you've had enough of the bright lights, a quick walk the other direction takes you to the funky shops and eateries of Hell's Kitchen. The 50th Street stop for the C and E lines is just around the corner, and the Times Square station is an easy walk, as well. All told, the Belvedere was a great oasis in which to escape the weather, crowds, noise, and commotion of Midtown, and to recharge our batteries for the next day. I will very likely stay there again on my next visit.

"New York City Experience"
My daughter and I have made several trips to NYC and we've always ended up having to rent in Brooklyn. We don't particularly care for Brooklyn, but that was the cheapest we could get in cost. Until I found Pod 39! We've stayed there twice now and we absolutely love it. It's very clean, comfortable, affordable, and very close to all of our favorite locations. I have recommended it to friends and family, and I will continue to do so. I love Pod 39!!

"Great location"
Hotel was very close to Broadway shows, 5th avenue shopping, Central Park, Rockefeller Center and subway stops. Room was small but clean. 55th street was very noisy all night with cabs honking and trucks going by. It might be like that everywhere though. The room temperature was hard to control. It was either blasting hot or off. We were glad it was in the 50's so "off"worked fine for us. We never ate at the attached cafe.

"Very good location"
Close to everything, Times Square, theaters, restaurants, shops, Rockefeller Center, St Patrick's Cathedral. The room is okay, quite spacious with the 2 double beds but the bathroom is quite small, no space to move.

"Nice hotel, great staff, lovely view, deposit bad"
Initial Issues: I booked a reservation on Travelocity.com for an $89 hotel room. At the time of making the reservation, there was a button I had to click to not pay an add-on fee to cancel my reservation that is for TOMORROW so of course I would not cancel my place to sleep in NYC. However, AFTER I PAID and got the itinerary confirmation number AND AFTER I CLICKED ON ANOTHER PAGE to review the reservation, there was an "Additional Fees" section that says the when I get to the hotel, the hotel will charge me an ADDITIONAL $200 DEPOSIT PLUS A $35 PER DAY SELF-PARKING FEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now, my $89 room just became $331 AND THEY WON'T ALLOW ME TO GET MY $106 BACK FOR MY INITIAL CHARGE TO GET A DIFFERENT HOTEL!!!!!!! Upon getting to the hotel, I was greeted by 2 Bellhops who opened the door for me. They were very helpful and friendly, offering help with the luggage and finding the parking garage. The front desk staff calmed my worries about the deposit because it is actually $100 with a debit card, not $200 as with cash. We were escorted to our room. Our initial impressions were that it is a very big room, nice, it had a sofa, desk, 1 chair, big bathroom, flat screen TV. Later at night, my friend enjoyed looking at the city buildings, which is actually mostly a view of ugly rooftops, until night time when we saw the Empire State Building and this other really beautiful building that lights up at night, from our room. The water was iffy, the wifi totally sucks.
