My stay at The Gallivant Times Square was terrible. I checked in around midnight and was treated rudely by the front desk attendant. He sent me to a rundown room with peeling paint, a broken thermostat, no blanket, and a cold temperature. The room smelled bad, and the condition was shocking for a hotel charging over $300 per night plus fees. When I went back to ask for help, the attendant rolled his eyes and moved me to an even smaller room on the top floor. The elevator was slow, and I felt unsafe, there were intoxicated guests in the hallways. I barely slept that night. The next morning, two women at the front desk were polite and helpful, quickly moving me to a clean room with working heat. That room was acceptable, but the first night was awful and unacceptable. Because of that experience, I would never stay here again.

The hotel was very old. The service was iffy...there was a phone in our room not connected to the wall. I tried to call the front desk from my cell and no one ever ever answered. There was no microwave, no coffee pot, no covers on the electrical outlets. The elevator was VERY slow. The air conditioner was a window unit that was sus. We had to clean it to get it to cool down the room. Although we would not ever stay there again, we did have a great time in NYC and we were happy to have beds and a safe place to stay. :)

I normally only stay at Hilton properties, however I wanted to step outside of my box. The pictures of this hotel were beautiful, the lobby, the rooms somewhere I could stay at. The evening I arrived I was taken a back, the room was horrific! I had a light missing on the left side of the bed. It did not smell great, it was holes in the wall and paint missing on the walls. The only thing that was ok, was the bathroom although very tiny and no where to put your toiletries. The other good thing was the pillows. The location was great as well. I would not recommend this hotel. I was very disappointed with the room situation. The staff was great as well.

Some elevators weren’t working properly but the staff didn’t tell anyone. In the room, the shower only had half the glass and water went everywhere! The shower head and towel rack were both loose.

Overall, it wasn't a bad experience and the location close to everything made it worth it. The room was clean and the staff was very nice. However, the room didn't give us the best first impression considering the cost. The wall paint was scratched, and some of the furniture was in bad shape. The bathroom was nice but the open shower was weird and inconvenient. We didn't mind much about any of this anyway. The one bad thing we really didn't like is that after a few days, we started having issues with the A/C. It had a sign that said the unit is controlled by the thermostat on the wall but there was no thermostat. The room was getting too warm; the unit seemed to be in a heating mode with no way to change it or turn it off. There was no answer when we called the front desk, so we went down and explained the issue. They offered us a different room and we agreed, but after checking the computer there were no rooms available, so they told us to open a window until they could send the repairman in the morning. Only 1 of the windows barely opened, they were stuck. We went down again in the morning since the repairman didnt show, and they explained that the units are not controlled individually, it's a central A/C system, and since people complained it was too cold they had turned on the heat. This seems unfair to me, we didn't want a warm room. They then asked the repairman to turn on the A/C in our room, he agreed and left. It was still warm afterwards, so we just gave up trying.

It took Three room changes To get a room finally in better shape The first room had a uncleaned shower With a leak The second room had a shower with Mold on the ceiling the entrance door Did not lock properly The third room was rundown With so so locks , chipped paint And cold showers missed changing Towels for two days . And long waiting times for elevators And no continental breakfast We feel gouged by all the additional Surcharges such as wifi and Tv And frivolous trumped up charges We would appreciate some form Of a discount / Refund for the inconvenience We we experienced during this stay.
