I was very pleasantly surprised by the hotel. Great location for where I needed to be. Staff was attentive. My room was not ready, I said I would wait and the concierge instead found me an upgraded room that was ready at no extra charge!

By the Numbers

Pros: LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION
Cons: Get a concierge that is truly honest and helpful.
Location: Right in the heart of the Broadway District and less than 3 blocks from Times Square and close the One Rockefeller Center
Location for Broadway & Times Square - 5 Stars Front Desk Staff (initial contact) - 2 Stars Subsequent Front Desk Interaction - 4 Stars Concierge - 1 to -1 Stars Room - Later Elevators - 2 Stars Breakfast - a Joke no Stars We arrived at the hotel & were greeted by a pleasant individual at the front desk who gave us our first key to a room that was already occupied by someone else ( our surprise upon opening the door), secondarily gave us a key to a "Suite Room" that had 2 bunk beds and a queen bed, we had reserved a King Master Room, then gave us a key to a temporary room for the night to a room on a higher floor, NOT A KING BED. Then the next day they moved us to a King Bed. In both rooms we stayed in there had never been any maintenance performed, the filter for the AC was so clogged that no air was coming thru, I cleaned it myself. Half of the plugs did work. We used the concierge to assist in going back to the airport and she sold us on a van service which was more costly and time consuming than had we used a taxi. We had also asked her about going to various locations, some more than a mile away and her response was to either walk or use the subway, which she gave no help in using. No subways in our town and we had never used one. Also be aware that this hotel is located right near a fire station and there are sirens all thru the night.

Great location to Broadway!

Pros: The lobby was very cool, and the whole hotel had a contemporary feel due to recent renovations with new surfaces.
Cons: Nothing much they can do about either. Elevators are slow, suggest getting a lower floor. Bathroom tiny, have to close door to stand in front of sink
Location: If you like Sushi, the best place is connected to the hotel...An'Anan (something like that). High quality! Live scallops!
Selected this hotel since it was just across the street from the Walter Kerr theater where we were seeing Amelie. But it's just one block to Times Square...so was a great location. The price was very reasonable for the location.

Overcharged & Bugs in the Room

First, we were overcharged when checking in by an oblivious employee saying we booked at a different rate thru a different website. Once in room, bugs were rampant in the bathroom along the ceiling. The balcony door latch didn't hold the door in place so it flung open randomly. The accounting staff was rude over the phone as we attempted to get the overcharges credited back & somehow they wanted to charge the total amount again! I would never stay here again bc they nickel and dime occupants at check-in while giving a hard time to get overcharged credit back after THEY made the mistake!

roasting hot .

Pros: location, comfortable beds,
Cons: the heating situation. mold in shower stall. bathroom door handle needs to be fixed. could offer free coffee in the morning. breakfast is expensive.
Location: times square, broadway, shopping, good resturaunts.
let me start with the positives, this hotel is close to times square and some nice bars close by as well. updated and modern decore. room is small and the thermostat did not work to regulate the heat. it was sweltering in there. went to front desk and spoke to who ever was there, his answer was open the window. so we listened to honking horns and yelling all night. the bathroom door would not latch closed and mold in the cornor of the shower. beds are comfortable and clean. breakfast was good, worth the price. the websites need to list that there is an additional 25.00 per night fee for incidentials.

Good location

Room was not very clean, nitestands were soiled on top, not clean, phone did not work and was filty with dust between all the keys, 1 lite next to bed was broken & hanging off it's stand, pull up shade chain was broken from its mount bracket. Bathroom towel bars were loose as was the toilet paper hanger, bath door had pry marks on the edge and the paint was chipped off. The second day I returned to my room at 5:30 pm and my room had not been made up yet, it took 30 min for them to come & do it. Elevators were tiny and very slow. Front desk staff were snarky with attitude. $300 per night with tax and so not worth it. I was in town for a training seminar and did not have the energy to change hotels based on my lengthy schedule. NOT RECOMMENDED!!!

Great location! However... Did not get room sizes I paid for:( 5 people between 3 double beds= uncomfortable.. Also the blind was broken so we had white light streaming in room all night... I asked for someone to come and fix blind and front desk said they would send maintenance up - but NO ONE ever showed up!
