The staff were absolutely fantastic! So lovely. The hotel is very tired and in need of un update and a good cleaning. There was no mini fridge in the room and none of the four ice machines worked. I had to ask for ice from the restaurant next door at the suggestion of the front desk staff. Only two of the three elevators were in service and for extended periods during the day, there was only one elevator. As I noted, the staff are fantastic. The location is great. Attention needs to be paid on the details.

The room was very small for 2 beds. There was a razor left in the shower which lead us to believe that shower was not cleaned. Staff was very nice. There was no working ice machine on 4th floor. No fridge 😕 and the elevator took forever so we ended up using the stairs.

I would like a refund for at least part of this stay. The room lock was broken when i arrived, and a doorman walked me up to the room and opened with a master key. i was then not able to enter to exit my room as i came and went until the door was fixed 24 hours later. The door was still not fixed after I arrived the next day and I had to wait 30 minutes for new keys. There was visible trash from a previous guest when I arrived and the room smelled of smoke even though i requested non smoking. THe staff was incredibly rude and unhelpful for the entirety of the stay.

The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable, washroom was nicely renovated. Had a couple of hot water, WIFI and elevator issues but the staff were great. It's a safe spot and it's in the middle of the musicals and close to 5th avenue for shopping. Good value for the price and a safe spot location and hotel-wise for women travelling alone or together.

Very clean room, the most pleasant staff I've met(and i travel alot). Anthony was particularly exceptional. His bright smile when i walked to the reception drove my tiredness away. He cracks alot of jokes and i laughed hard. There's the elderly lady with beautiful short hair, such a wonderful mama. Made me feel like i was talking to my mum. She's so beautiful too. Great experience I must say, I'm happy.

Always a wonderful stay at The Galivant Hotel. No frills, just a basic clean room in a historic building. Small rooms but have everything you need. Fresh towels daily, beds made daily, very clean rooms. I've stayed here many times and i will continue to return. Perfectly located in Times Square area. Only downside is the elevators..... take a very long time and extremely small. Just take the stairs!!

My stay at The Gallivant Times Square was terrible. I checked in around midnight and was treated rudely by the front desk attendant. He sent me to a rundown room with peeling paint, a broken thermostat, no blanket, and a cold temperature. The room smelled bad, and the condition was shocking for a hotel charging over $300 per night plus fees. When I went back to ask for help, the attendant rolled his eyes and moved me to an even smaller room on the top floor. The elevator was slow, and I felt unsafe, there were intoxicated guests in the hallways. I barely slept that night. The next morning, two women at the front desk were polite and helpful, quickly moving me to a clean room with working heat. That room was acceptable, but the first night was awful and unacceptable. Because of that experience, I would never stay here again.

The hotel was very old. The service was iffy...there was a phone in our room not connected to the wall. I tried to call the front desk from my cell and no one ever ever answered. There was no microwave, no coffee pot, no covers on the electrical outlets. The elevator was VERY slow. The air conditioner was a window unit that was sus. We had to clean it to get it to cool down the room. Although we would not ever stay there again, we did have a great time in NYC and we were happy to have beds and a safe place to stay. :)
