The Iron Horse Hotel
"We enjoyed the Walkerspoint location of this Hotel and the burgeoning restaurant/business scene in this up and coming hood. (Though the streets of Milwaukee outside of this immediate area are horrific on cars! What UP, MKE???) THE YARD restaurant was great; cocktails amazing. Not too satisfied with the hotel cleaning. They completely skipped us one day (we did NOT leave a "don't clean" sign on door), and when they did clean, there was no vacuuming, no toilet paper (we ran completely out), and no mattress cover, just a bottom sheet? (Ew.). The hotel VIBE (decor, gift shop, scent of men's cologne throughout, giant unique paintings, pool table) was tres hip, though I could do without the lauding of "big game hunters" being the inspiration for the zebra print carpet in the building. (Personally, I'm not into killing exotic species, or endorsing those who do, even if their last name is Trump. Maybe that's just me.) Pay homage to the animals, not their killers."
