"TLDR: Food poisoning, insects, and nothing above 2 stars by any means. This was one of the worst “all-inclusive” experiences we’ve ever had. Staff were snarky, sarcastic, and quick to charge extra for everything - including mini-fridge drinks. There’s only one small pool and no hot tub unless you pay hundreds for a “spa package.” Nothing like any other Hyatt property we’ve stayed at worldwide. It honestly should not carry the brand name. English proficiency was extremely limited. When we called housekeeping for help adjusting the room temperature while I had fever and chills after consuming their drinks, they laughed and offered no assistance. The lack of basic support, even something as simple as vomit bags, was shocking. The drinks at the pool bar (piña colada, lemonade, “Riviera Maya”) triggered three days of nonstop vomiting, fever, chills, and nausea. They tasted artificial -like sugar, dye, and unclean water. The buffet was unhygienic and low quality. Chocolate milk separated into powder and tinted water. Bread tasted processed and artificial. Vegetarian labels were inaccurate, and we were even served shrimp after asking multiple times. Coffee tasted like cardboard. Restaurants weren’t open for breakfast or lunch, and dinner waits ranged from 30 minutes to 2 hours. Food was undercooked (burgers, pakoras), bland or overly salty. The lobby and washrooms had overpowering artificial nauseating scents. Rooms were outdated and dirty ants were on my toothbrush."
