I booked a room with a double bed and was given a king size bed with a pullout sofa, when I asked to change rooms was given the run around saying I was never guaranteed a double bed room. Finally was given a room with a double bed on my 3rd day there. Staff was not very accommodating and friendly. Staff at buffet took forever to tend to you as well. I was also not impressed with the bathrooms in the room, they have no privacy and if you are traveling with teenagers or young adults it makes it hard for showers. Bathrooms have no doors and showers have glass doors. For the price I was not impressed will not be returning

Finest Playa Mujeres. A most curious name. Finest? Indeed. One almost wishes it were not true, simply to have something meaningful to complain about. The resort stands like a shining monument to excess, draped in white linens and the faint aroma of coconut sunscreen. The rooms, sinfully comfortable. The cuisine, a relentless assault on my willpower. The service, polite, efficient, almost unsettling in its cheerfulness. One begins to wonder: what’s the catch? And then… the drinks, especially at the restaurants. Ah, yes. My solitary pebble in an otherwise pristine shoe. The attentive waitstaff, for all their charm, occasionally leave one staring into the void of an empty glass. A small cruelty, really. The sun beats down, my throat dries, and I sit, pondering the nature of thirst. Not parched enough to die, no — just enough to feel the slow tick of time. A lesson in patience, perhaps. Or sadism. Hard to say. But let us not pretend this is a true grievance. I remained upright, thoroughly sated, and even found myself, dare I say, relaxed. And that, for a man such as myself, is a rare and terrible thing. Finest Playa Mujeres lives up to its name. Against all my natural instincts, I shall return, and suffer their luxury again.

I’d give this resort a solid 4 even though it was a wonderful property. We loved it but there could be improvements. We booked a regular swim up room bc they didn’t have any of the finest club level avail. Upon check in, they said I can upgrade to the finest club but would still be in the regular room. So they had to change out our amenities (not sure if we got them all) and switched out our coffee maker the next day which is a shame bc the upgraded coffee was amazing and we lost a day. It is important to me bc I am a coffee snob and love my coffee and with only 3 nights, one day makes a huge difference. Our room had some stains on the cabinet and it was in the corner so it was loud esp in the mornings when you’d like to sleep in a bit. You can hear families walking by, kids crying, maintence and housekeeping right outside your door. They park their cart in front of the door and is just loud. What made our room is the pool! We loved every second of it! However it can use a good clean up as mildew is on the grout and bird poop droppings on the patio. The latter is not their fault and they try to clean it all the time. The room is spacious and the bathroom is also wonderful! The housekeeping was great but came in while we were still in the pool and she asked if we wanted a turn down service to which I said yes but she didn’t. I’ve been to Mexico many times and usually return to the same resort, but this time we tried something new based on great Google and social media reviews. Overall, it was a nice stay. Check-in was quick — we arrived early and got our room two hours ahead of schedule. Online check-in definitely helped; we were done at the front desk in about four minutes. The resort is about 35 minutes from Cancun airport, located in a gated community that felt safe. We saw both hotel security and local police on the beach. The food was solid; fresh, customizable at restaurants (which is rare at all-inclusives), and room service was fast and hot. Housekeeping was excellent, checking in a few times daily to restock towels and essentials. Most of the staff were friendly and attentive, which made a big difference. However, on our last day, breakfast service fell flat. At "The Kitchen," a buffet spot, we sat and grabbed food but no one approached us for 15 minutes — no coffee, water, or juice for our son. A waitress finally came by when we were almost done. It felt like we were no longer a priority since we were checking out. We always tip well, so that was disappointing. Is it a true 5-star resort? I’d say closer to 4.3 or 4.5. Would I return? Probably not. For the same price, there are better-established resorts in Cancun that offer more consistent service. It’s a decent place, but not quite worth the premium dollar.

My family of 3 (including a kid under 10yo) stayed at the resort for a total of 5 days and 4 nights. We had an excellent stay. The food and restaurant selection was awesome. Our little one is very picky when it comes to food, but she felt that she had more than enough to select from. Everyone, especially the waitstaff are attentive, accommodating, friendly and helpful. They really make sure the guests feel at home. The housekeeping team worked with our schedule on when we wanted our room cleaned. Manuela and Dania were super helpful. They made our check-in and check-out seamless. There are a lot of activities for the family to enjoy, but we just chose to not participate and just laid out by the beach and pool. The nightly shows were entertaining, and we really enjoyed it. Will definitely recommend to anyone, and we plan on going back again in the near future.
