You need to communicate with the hotel.

The hotel was fine but I had a major problem with billing. The hotel wasnt notified that I had prepayed with you and tried to double bill me. I've had this happen before and luckily I caught it in time. Apparently you didnt notify them that I had booked the room through you so they originally charged me for the room and parking even though I had no car in the city.

Excellent location

We had a great stay here. Location was truly excellent - very central to lots of the wonderful neighbourhoods of San Francisco. Hotel was lovely and clean. Doormen provided excellent service. Only downside was a bit of poor service from front desk and valet (eg. rang for extra pillows which never came, rang to ask a question and phone rang out without being answered, waited at valet desk for 5 minutes without being attended too). Wouldn't stop me staying there again though as everything else was great.

Location was very convenient near union square,

Pros: The decor was excellent I enjoy looking at the lobby .
Cons: Not really, I usually don't spend too much time in the hotels, the most important is to have a nice bed to come and relax.
Location: Location was excellent. near shopping stores, a lot of things to do Union Square, etc.
We had a good experience, rooms were a little bit small, but I like the hotel theme

5th Annual Family Christmas Eve Eve Stay.

Pros: We know we will get a clean room and friendly staff.
Cons: Not a thing ...Please : D
Location: Starbucks at the corner, Sears across the street and Scala is great for breakfast. We used our discount cards for not requiring a room cleaning.
Our family has adopted the Sir Francis Drake as our annual "Family Christmas Eve Eve" Location. We not only value the staff and the hospitality. The bartender was brilliant and the Beef Eaters always make it a special stay. Thank you on behalf of three generations!!! We will be back again next year. Thank you very much for all the special memories. Kim

Perfect location to enjoy SF. Older hotel but nice

Pros: Close to attractions (Union Square, Chinatown, Cable Cars).
Cons: The rooms have been updated a bit but not completely. The tub, windows and closets show age but the bedding, furniture and vanity were modern.
Location: Fantastic spot. Close to many points of interest.
The hotel is older but is perfectly located. It's a half of a block away from Union Square but a much cheaper alternative to neighboring hotels. The bellman (LaBan Wade) was extremely helpful and courteous. The cable car stops right out front and you can easily be off to explore the city. I would stay there again.

Convenient, central location!

Pros: Central location.
Cons: Pillows!
Location: Union Square, shopping, restaurants, cable car out the front door. A walk to China town, South of Market, North Beach, theaters. Tranisr elsewhere.
Beautiful hotel in heart of the city. Staff were couteous, friendly and helpful. Standard queen room was comfortable but small. Bathromm had very litle space to spread out, which was a minus for my wife. Bed pillows were not comfortable at all. Parking is the cost of some motels I've stayed in! :-) Overall would stay here again only for the convenience to the City.

Romantic Valentine's Day getaway in San Fran!

Pros: Location, decor, charm, colors
Cons: A little more upkeep with pieces that needed to be fixed, especially in bathroom.
Location: Anything and everything. Lori's classic diner across street-very cute and cheapest meal for the quantity of food given during our whole trip.
This was the first trip to San Fran for my boyfriend and I. I found a great deal thanks to Travelocity's package deal including r/t airfare and 2 nights stay in this landmark 4 star classic vintage hotel. Sir Francis Drake was very stunning, inside and out. The beefeaters outside are very nostalgic and European feeling. While the room itself was quite small, bed right in front of a mirror (a bit awkward) and a small desk and chair, with no view other than windows of another building across street, it was still nicely appointed, decorated to fit the style of the hotel and very luxurious feeling. Bathroom vanity showed some wear and tear, missing some hardware on the front and pieces broken off, but I found this to play into the charm of this 1920's vintage hotel. Very grand entrance lobby with pianos and huge double sided staircase. Didn't get to check out famous Starlight room lounge but heard it was pretty! Excellent location close to public transport and main hot spots for city center. Overall, a GREAT hotel and very romantic weekend in San Fran. I have recommended this hotel to others and plan to go again someday!

Dear PortlandBella, I couldn't be happier that you and your BF had a great stay! Our theme offers that old-world charm you often find in many hotels in European countries and glad that you have a set of eyes to appreciate that! We are indeed a 1928 historic building and we try out best to maintain the look of the 20's era. Thank you for your 5-star review and hope you'll visit us soon. Cheers, Jim Gross, General Manager
