Relaxing and peaceful

Pros: Everything especially the staff. Roschid who worked the front desk was a gem to us. He gave us great advice and even helped us get a bus tour!
Cons: The restaurant was ok but the Thanksgiving desert was blah. Keep it simple!
Location: Love that the hotel was centrally located in the city!
My Mom wanted an escape because this was our first Thanksgiving without my Dad who died 5 weeks ago. The staff was caring and very attentive. We loved our room esoecially the comfortable beds. The livlieness of the colors in the bedrooms made our stay vibrant. We got a kick out of seeing the book, “Alice in Wonderland”in our room. My Mom thought it was a Bible but when we looked closer and saw it was “Alice in Wonderland,” we giggled.

Jennifer, thank you for your great feedback. We are so glad you and your mother could stay at The Monaco with us for the holiday. We are happy to see that the liveliness of the hotel was able to make your stay feel that much more lively after your loss. We look forward to your return for another special stay.

Extremely Close to All Historic Sites

Pros: Convention literature
Cons: Getting the room that we booked through Travelocity; we were promised a wheelchair accessible bathroom double bed room.
Did not get the Handicap Accessible Room as Booked. Either or could have the double that we needed or a king for 3 people that was accessible. Unfortunately, I was not not able to bathe or shower during our stay. I had only to clean up very uncomfortable. Part of my stay was very uncomfortable!!!

SNZ I'm terribly sorry to hear that you did not get the room that you requested or needed while you were here. As much as I cannot take back the hands of time and change what happened, I do hope that we ensure a smoother stay at the hotel if you ever find yourself back in Philadelphia. Please feel free to reach out to me to guarantee the perfect room.

Hotel monaco

Travelocity already billed us for our stay along with the hotel accidentally. The hotel staff was extremely apologetic and not only reimbursed us quickly but also gave us one nights of money back for parking. Great experience.

Honesty of cleaning service not up to par

Pros: Decor
Cons: Honesty and helpfulness beyond the norm for this type of hotel expected
We checked out at 9am for a day in Philly. Picked up our car at 6pm after seeing the sites and confirming with hotel that was allotted time and okayed our pickup. Didn't realize until we were an hour out of town we had forgotten an expensive $120 gel pillow. Since they had 9 hrs. to clean room and notify us we could have gotten it at 6pm when we picked up the car. It was not even close to type of pillows they had and front desk should be notified if something is left. Disappointed not to have given them a better rating because of this. Honesty and going beyond is what gets a 4 or 5.

Funky Hotel somewhat disappointing

Reception tried to tell us our room wasn't ready a half an hour after check-in. Mattress was the worst. My husband and I both woke up with back aches.

Cons: Nothing. Price was great.
Location: In Society Hill, the best neighborhood.

I loved this hotel

Pros: Free Internet, great location
The staff at the Hotel Monaco make everyone feel like a star. It's beautiful and the rooms are great. I loved the wine receptions every night at 5PM. It was expensive but worth the splurge!

Not ready for 'prime time.'

Not the room reserved I don't believe. The room was quite small. It was across from the elevators. There was no hot water - lukewarm only in both the shower and the bathroom sink. The Red Owl?? Restaurant/Tavern was noisy, but the short ribs were outstanding. This Kimpton did not live up to our previous stays in other cities. Maybe after things are settled in we will take another shot at it.

Great services and location!

Cons: No free Internet
Located in the old city area, near many historic sites. I stayed the week this hotel opened. Staff was very attentive. Rooms were a bit "busy" in design, but this IS a boutique hotel so should be expected.
