    Pennsylvania Hotel Travel Guide

The Keystone State's urban cities--Pittsburgh and Philadelphia--serve as bookends on what is a naturally resplendent swath of forests, farmland, mountain scenery, and charming small towns. Book a Pennsylvania hotel and see things from America's most important Civil War battlefield. You can also check out top-level sports franchises, or seek the great outdoors with a camping and hiking trip. The western part of the state is dominated by the Pittsburgh metro area. Rooted in steel and American industrial might, today's Pittsburgh pays homage to that past while standing as a modern city with a wide range of fun things to do and see. From the Duquesne Incline and Mount Washington, you get spectacular views of the city where the rivers meet. Eastern Pennsylvania is home to the Philadelphia area, where liberty was bred in Revolutionary War days.

    Your Visit to Pennsylvania

Your vacation to this unique part of the country will probably start with flights to Pennsylvania cities. Don't forget to explore the interior, though. Gettysburg National Military Park pays homage to the bloodiest battle of the Civil War and inspires visitors with the words of President Lincoln's Gettysburg Address. Beyond the battlefield, the city is quickly becoming a foodie destination. To the north and west, the forest lands offer hiking, biking, fishing, and loads of outdoor fun as well as cheap Pennsylvania resorts. Explore the wild areas between Williamsport and Lake Erie to get a feel for what the countryside was like before settlement. Back in Philadelphia, visit Independence National Historic Park to read the story of the Liberty Bell. At the Philadelphia Museum of Art, view masterworks, and, on the way in, run up the "Rocky Steps," made famous by Sylvester Stallone's character. Choose from among many hotels in Philadelphia or resorts in Pennsylvania with Travelocity. You can save up to $537 when you book a hotel and flight at the same time.

    "AC Was Broken Entire Stay"
The resort is dated as the other reviews state. Our AC was broken our entire stay despite them switching it out. It was hot and uncomfortable. We were above the club so we heard and felt the band playing below - That was very annoying. Otherwise, lots of activities to do and the staff is nice.

"Nice stay downtown, but understaffed valet"
We stayed at the Wyndham to go to a concert at PNC park. It's a short walk to the stadiums as well as the cultural district. Awesome: checkin was fast and painless. Good: The room was clean and actually larger than we needed. Nice bathroom with a great shower and good water pressure. The pillows were much too large: overstuffed and caused neck cramps. Questionable: we could hear our next-door neighbors pretty clearly; not very good sound isolation between rooms. Poor: The valet parking was backed up both when we came and left. There were cars backed up into the street try to get to the valets, and it took 30+ minutes to fetch our car on exit. I suggest that for large events they figure out how to staff the valet better or come up with a more efficient system.

    "Close to everything"
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We wish it could have been longer. The hotel has the most beautiful lobby, filled with activity. I was pleasantly surprised with the staff and their friendliness, from the time we stepped out of our car until the time we got back in our care. They were quite helpful with our bags, pointing out points of interest and even checking on the construction in the area for our departure. When we checked out they offered to keep our bags as we went to brunch. I could not have asked for nicer rooms. We asked for two rooms close together and we actually got adjoining rooms, which was wonderful. Our bags were delivered quickly to our room and once again with a very pleasant personality. We will definitely return.

    "Visiting friends in Pittsburgh"
Traveled to Pittsburgh to meet some "old Army buddies" for a reunion. Picked this hotel because of the downtown location. Generally it was "ok." Staff was pleasant, helpful. But the hotel clearly needs some work.
