Excellent Manager

Pros: Pretty, charming, old hotel. Large sitting room/lobby with skylight. Coffee and tea always available, as are snacks and drinks to grab and go.
Cons: In bathroom there were smudges on the mirror; water spots on the steel; and mold on shower grout.
Location: Busy downtown. For safety, the hotel has a walk-in ground floor lobby, and an elevator that takes you to the actual 2nd floor lobby.
The hotel manager, who was on duty 24/7 for the first few days of my 6-night stay, was impressive. I ran into him frequently, and whether he was delivering an ironing board to a room, wiping a smudge in the elevator, or making sure the street entrance to the lobby was spotless late at night, he was quick with a smile and a kind word. He was very visible, as a good hotel manager should be, and his continuous presence definitely made a positive impression on me.

Perfect location, kind service

Pros: Location and kindness of the hotel staff
Cons: Cleaning the carpets of the room.
Location: By walking, you are 9 minutes far from places to eat, 5 minutes from the train and bus stations and 15- 20 from the main places to visit in the city.
The hotel is close to any of the main places in the city, you can reach them just walking few minutes. The staff at the hotel are kind, they give you excellent suggestions and solve all your problems (they speak Spanish fluently). There are always free bottles of water , coffee, fruits at the reception. Comfortable rooms according to the price.

Pros: lovely second floor lobby
Cons: Bathroom awkward enough to make me use a public restroom a few times and I HATE public restrooms.
Location: excellent
room crowded only decent lamp broken bathroom poorly set up (shelf made it impossible to keep the toilet seat up and difficult to get to the toilet paper) wound up leaving the toilet paper on the floor

Center City Hotel for an overnight stay

Pros: The price and location were unbeatable. Davio's restaurant which does room service was excellent. Purified water dispensers and nice gym.
Cons: Rooms were not very clean but my biggest issue was the lack of towels and the small toilet. Staff was jeckyll and hyde - some nice, some nasty
Location: Middle of Center City. Walk to tremendous shopping, city hall, historic district, thousands of restaurants. Fashionable area. Convenient parking.
The price, location and availability were our main needs, but a convention limited the availability. First, the mid-block hotel does not have a legal loading / unloading area on busy Chestnut Street and does not have baggage trolleys or bell captains to help with baggage at the door. The lobby is up one floor from street level. Best probably to have one bag, park first and walk to hotel. Hotel validates for 35% discount at Liberty Place Garage on 16th street just north of hotel block. We stayed for 7 nights in two different rooms. Room 1205 was an elevator room, small city type hotel room. One set of towels, only enough for one person. Room had three closets and TV swivel mounted on wall between bed and fold out love seat. Dinette under the TV. Kitchenette with microwave and keurig. Toilet was the small apartment type, which is not very good for my 6' self and my 6'3" husband. Shower and fixtures very nice and purified water dispenser in the hallway. Discovered rotting food in the fridge, so next morning, threw in trash and had front desk remove trash - which they did and removed our food from the fridge too. Had my backpack on top of one of the closets and it got covered with paint/spackle residue. No laundry bag. Chilly corner Room 613 was a suite (nominal upgrade fee) which was roomier with a fold out sofa, more lights but the same tiny toilet and a tub not a walk in shower. Again one set of bath towels- and they did not replace old towels.

Great hotel in the the center of Philly.

We stayed in a really clean, nice room. There was a really friendly staff. In a really great location in the center (if you're driving it might take a long time to get to because of city traffic). In any case, I would definitely go back to this hotel.

Consistent, good stay

Pros: Consistency
Cons: Housekeeping when you leave the room late but not after 3
Location: Lots to do nearby. Too much to list. So much is within walking distance, shopping, sites and restaurants.
I select this hotel whenever possible since I know exactly what to expect when I stay.

Repeat Visit Didn't Disappoint

Location: Chestnut is convenient and nearby lots of shopping and restaurants.
I booked Club Quarters instead of the convention hotel because I had had a good experience there before. I was not disappointed. The air quality it so good at this hotel. Not sure how they do it, but it doesn't smell like typical hotels. Also liked the purified water stations and bottles. Rooms are compact but well appointed.
