Only good thing about this place was the location. No pillows, no tables, no towel racks, no hooks, no dresser, no tissues, leaks in room and lobby, keys never worked and had to be reset repeatedly... garbage hotel.

Dirty. Helpless staff. Not one extra pillow could be found. The carpet in the room was filthy and old, no tissues, no place to rest a suitcase, no hooks for hanging a robe or a towel, window was impossible to open, the shower configuration allowed water all over the floor. The only plus was the nice restaurant and the location. But hardly worth it. Would never go back.

I've stayed here multiple times through the years and never had any issues. It's always been my go to. BUT things have definitely changed. To start with it's now impossible to get anyone to answer the phone. I was told I would receive a call when my room was ready. 7 pm rolls around and still no call. Once I finally get into my room I had zero hot water, no trash can, and room had barely been cleaned. Got zero sleep (not due to the typical thumping from South Beach) because there was what seemed to be a malfunctioning alarm of some sort going off all night right outside of my room. And of course no one at the front desk would answer the phone. So to sum it up. Excessively late check-in, no hot water, dirty room and zero sleep. The location is as great as ever but at this point it's not worth it. Find something legitimate close by.

Lovely room, very clean and comfortable Access is through an ice cream shop to the elevators which was a bit strange but fit with the vibe of the area! The bar downstairs was awesome with great entertainment Everything was walkable and this property is right across the street from the beach and a short walk to Versace property and the hotel on the birdcage Would definitely stay here again!

I know it's an historic building - that's the charm. But the tiles in the shower were sloppily grouted - they felt weird and looked gross. The bathroom vanity was warped and falling apart near the floor. Our AC vent left a puddle on our floor. I cleaned it up once thinking we dripped out of the shower. Found it two more times before I finally just left a towel on the floor. It's a little convoluted getting to the room - not a huge deal until you run to CVS at 8:30a and they decide to... I guess deactivate your room key because they assumed we checked out? While it's a minor thing we arrived SUPER early on check-in day, left our bags and explored, per my plan. We came back around noon absolutely drenched from rain, which I hadn't planned for but obviously no one's fault. Asked about early check-in and were shrugged off. While we were trying to shift into warm, dry sweatshirts in the lobby, the guy at the desk literally VOLUNTEERED early check-in to the people who arrived next. Super rude.

The area itself was loud. Bumping music. All good, just something to note. The pool is very small. Beach across the street. They were out of chairs at the hotel but did provide towels. Drinks are. Expensive! 4 drinks was $90 😡. Lights didn’t work day two but was rectified quickly. Staff was great. Not sure I’d stay there again.

The first room they gave us still had someone staying in it so we had to move rooms. Then we discovered bed bugs and decided not to stay at the property. While discussing the issue with the front desk another guest had a similar issue. We were all escorted off the property by police and the property is now refusing to refund us for a room we didn't stay in.

Room air conditioning did not work and hotel could not fix nor exchange room for another as hotel was booked. Check-in was super slow due to hotel staff. Room floor was very slippery with a without shoes. Expedia stated a service fee of $20 plus tax per day would be applied, but the hotel stated that was an outdated rate and charged $39.90 per day. FYI - since the hotel is on the main drag, don’t expect a quiet room as you will hear the music from the nearby clubs and the cars cruising Ocean Drive with their audio system blasting.

Check in was at 4pm. Walked in at 4:30 and was told the room wasn’t ready. We then had to wait until 6:30pm for our room to be ready. This was very inconvenient for us because we had 4 big luggage bags that we had to haul around with us. Also, once we got checked in, we got to our room. The hotel smelled very dirty, the floors were sticky, like they have never been cleaned. The shower was gross. The bed mattress was broken. The fridge in the room didn’t work. The customer service was terrible, they weren’t willing to do anything to help us feel more welcomed. They just kept blaming it on them being “at capacity”. I will never stay here again, nor will I recommend this hotel to anyone. Beware!

Check in was a mess,patio door didn’t open so we had zero access to our private pool,toilet does work or fill,if these were fixed I would give it a 5 star because location is perfect but without the private pool it was not a penthouse experience and they still charged us full price,hopefully they see this and offer some compensation
