Luxurious hotel, rude staff

Pros: Quiet
Cons: No free Internet, bad service
The Viceroy is, without a doubt, a posh hotel. We stayed in a one bedroom suite, and the attention to detail and amenities were stunning. But for all the luxury, the staff was rude and unhelpful. For example, we went up to the rooftop pool to swim but found no towels and no attendant. My husband ran back down to the room to grab some and upon exiting, a staff member stopped and told him he could not bring the towels to the pool. My husband explained there were none and no attendant. The staff member told him there had to be someone on duty, but he would send someone to check. No one came. We asked three staff members to send someone up to the pool area. In the end, we dripped our way back to the room—and ended up using the room towels after we ruined the floors! Also word of advice, it won't save you a dime to go up to the restaurant rather than order room service. The view is beautiful and the food is good, but breakfast was $75 and we waited over 30 minutes for our check while watching the wait staff chat. Perhaps no one in Miami is concerned with schedules or follow-ups. I would stay at this hotel again, but I won't count on good service.

Great staff. Beautiful rooms. A++ service

Pros: good bang for your buck
Cons: Nothing close, No free Internet, Poor breakfast
The hotel was great from driving up till after I left. I arrived early and room wasn't ready. They held my bags and called me once it was ready. Staff was helpful and rooms were neat and spacious

Worth a stay

Pros: Quiet
Cons: No free Internet, Poor breakfast
The view from the pool is breathtaking. Gym, sauna n steam room are free. Basic room includes a bathtub that can be seen from the bedroom which are perfect for couples. Their complimentary XL size shampoo, conditioner n body wash smell so good. Nearby Public transportation can bring you to south beach. There's a supermarket and drugstore within walking distance.

Mediocre Visit

Pros: Quiet
Cons: No free Internet
I typically try my best to find the "good" in all things however the Viceroy Miami doesn't stand a chance. Initially they lost my reservation that I made 3 months in advance. Which I believe the room I received had the poorest view imaginable. The room reminded me of something you may see on Miami Vice, very cliche. Room service was poor. The website states it will assist with transportation and water games on the beach. When I asked the lobby for ideas for the day, they were of no assistance. My guests parked under valet while visiting and the hotel charged to my room. Never confirmed the information with me, just 200 bucks charged on my account. The pool was awesome and the food was just ok. The internet cost about 9 dollars a day and was extremely slow. Nothing is really within walking distance. Trulucks is a restaurant nearby that was really good. Needless to say I wouldn't recommend this to anyone unless they are only looking for a "nice looking" room. But realistically isnt vacation more than just a pretty room?

This hotel was worth every penny

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet
Cons: No free Internet
The Viceroy staff was excellent. They were very warm and friendly. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the food was great. The only issue that I had was the exercise facility closed at 10 pm. I like to do cardio before bed, so I was disappointed to find out the facility closed that early.

Fancy and fun

Pros: Quiet
Cons: Nothing close
The hotel is beautiful, and the staff is top-notch. My issues were that the lighting in the room is HORRIBLE!!! Ladies, bring a lighted make-up mirror because otherwise you're doing it in the dark. This place tries a little TOO hard to be posh. Over done. We felt a little out of place, and not comfortable in the surroundings. Also, kinda pricey.

Beautiful place to stay

Pros: Free Internet
Incredible looking hotel. The room safe and small kitchen were unexpected extras. The only complaint I have was that other guests were slamming their doors but otherwise I could not hear any noise from the other rooms.

This hotel was very accomodating and even offered a free upgrade!

We came down for a last-minute girls weekend and found a great deal - but it got even better when the hotel upgraded us for free to a 1 bedroom suite - after realizing they no longer had one of the Kind Bed Rooms we had reserved. The concierge was also very helpful making reservations for us at different restaurant hotspots. And not to mention the pool! Amazing views, amazing pool! Likely the best in Miami! Plus you've got poolside cocktail service - doesn't get much better than that! The rooms do feel a little dated - but I think they try to get by on this with an "eclectic" feel to the furnishings and design. I would stay here again.
