"Awesome family Vacation"
Vacation with 17 family members. Had an awesome time. Upgraded to Royal Suites and had the exclusive transportation to where we wanted to go within the resorts. This was our 5th time in Punta Cana and have no regrets in our resort choice. Japanese, Tapas and Brazilian restaurants where the best. Didn't care for the rest. Sports Bar was always very crowded and the wait to play pool was too long. Everything else made up for that.

"A good hotel choice for DR"
The Secrets hotel was nice for a beach stay at the DR, however, consider going to a FL beach instead! Secrets was nice in comparison to other lesser resorts, they did make an effort to clear seaweed and trash from the beach, but the room itself had a few issues, like loud a/c (sounded like a washing machine), bad toilet seat (didn't fit the toilet), smelly pillows (smelled like a sweaty guy), etc. To be fair, the staff did replace the smelly blanket and pillow when I complained. Even though it's "all inclusive", the only wine included was a super cheap ($1 a bottle, we checked) white and red. You'd have to pay extra there, about three times the price of a cheap US wine to get a decent bottle (for example, Woodbridge wine was $32 a bottle in DR, only about $9 in states). My husband did enjoy the free beer and fruity drinks however-but only beer and water were in room fridges. Some other downsides to the DR included trash on the beach, pushy salespeople, long customs clearances, long bus rides to hotel/activities, etc. but that's pretty typical for some overseas places. Overall, the setup of Secrets with the pool and beach was very nice, food was decent, the variety of restaurants was good.

"Balanced review of the Reserve at Paradisus Punta "
Being time share owners and having visited many over the past 20+ years I'll try to provide an accurate review. The Pro's: Fantastic landscaping, architecture, pools and beach were very nice and the staff was uniformly pleasant. It was quite easy to reach Punta Cana from the east coast but watch carefully for the packages since they book you on longer routes and multiple connections. Quick ground transport by taxi (35.00 USD) , generally pleasant rooms with balconies. The Con's: All inclusive meals were middling at best and we actually found the buffets had some of the better dinner meals. Wine/other alcoholic beverages sub par unless you upgraded to Royal service 50-60.00PP/day for branded non watered down sources and access to pay restaurants. Very sly in getting people trapped into listening to 2+ hrs of sales for Melia resorts. They claim not a time share but it very much is one with a twist and very expensive. Do your homework before you even think of listening to this including aftermarket sales of the same brand. Activities quite limited on site especially water sports without paying outside/contract sources. Overall, a really pretty place with a beautiful beach (need to walk 10 minutes or take the shuttle since this is a very large site) and multiple pools. Great if that's all you are looking for otherwise given lower food/drink quality and fewer activities I would keep on looking.

"The hotel was very clean, nice and in good conditi"
I had a wonderful time in Punta Cana, the food was ok, nice selection of a little bit of everything. My room was clean... the weather was so humid and damp everything will remain a little moist due to the humidity. The excursions were wonderful. Side note you can really snorkel right on the beach and see pretty fishes but the water won't be as clear as if you were to go out with the tour guide. All souvenirs were cheaper when we went snorkeling. They do come bring you everything at the resort but it will cost a little more. All in all great trip, better to go in a huge group but ok with just your significant other as well

"Nice hotel with a decent sized room with Jacuzzi"
Our overall experience was satisfactory, and we would likely go back for a return visit. Pros: Nice room that were pretty clean for the most part. We had the platinum suite, and the jacuzzi tub was a nice touch that I would recommend. The staff was all very nice, our fridge was restocked with beer, water and pop daily. Cons: The beach was not as close to the room as I would have liked; 2.) it was not clear on what the daily activities were going to be each day as they normally were not posted, and you had to stumble on them, 3.) The front desk staff can be more understanding and knowledgeable about things, such as if a complimentary massage is offered with the room, and if not, what discounts are given to the guest, Also, there is a massage Spa very close to this resort, but staff was unaware of that; In addition, the staff should also have a better idea on how to get from one resort to the next, 4) the crew that does the entertaining in our opinion catered more to certain guests than others (My husband and I are African American, and the crew were all African American or dark skinned Dominicans) and the ladies were great and sociable with all guests, however the males seemed to only be interested in appeasing the Caucasian guests. 5.) The hotel and all the other surrounds hotels and resorts all promote the Coco Bongo Show, which is a really great show that costs around $130. My husband and I decided to go to the 4 hour show, however after being there for maybe an hour or

"Very pleasing stay"
The hotel facilities are great and the staff are always willing to help and are courteous. We had our son's wedding at the hotel and the coordinators were excellent, together with the bartenders, waiters and cooks. The buffet and dessert tables were exquisite! It's one of the best places to hold a wedding. A couple of setbacks were that I had to request for clean towels, face cloths, and hand towels twice. Plus the ZEN restaurant gives poor service and we shared the same comments with other groups that went to eat there in different nights. I thought it was only because there were 10 of us went and they could be short staffed. But when I heard the other group complaining the next day, then I was right to say that the Zen staff are not well-trained to serve properly. We left without getting dessert because it will take another 20 min. to order the dessert only. Food and drinks were interchanged and sometimes not served.

"LOVED IT!"
We absolutely loved our Trip! The Staff was wonderful. The only reason I gave it a 4 was because of the food. The buffet area was not great. It was good...but not great. I highly suggest budgeting $76 for the steak and lobster dinner at the Main lobby restaurants. Worth it!
