Barcelo Bavaro Beach. No esta remodelado, las habitaciones son viejas, los baños incomodos. Los buffet del Barcelo Bavaro Palace estaban mucho mejor y nos trasladabamos para los almuerzos y cena. Buscabamos tranquilidad en la parte de adultos y terminamos estando mas tiempo en el Palace. No fue lo que esperabamos de un hotel para adultos. En cuanto a la playa, mucho sargazo. Y ademas el fondo en la playa estaba con muchas plantas, no habia ninguna area limpia despues de pasar el area de sargazo en superficie. Hicimos la excursión a Saona y playa Palmilla, lo unico bueno fueron las piscinas naturales. En Saona no hay ninguna comodidad, no hay sillas, la playa ya no es lo que era antes. En playa Palmilla el almuerzo fue escaso, la comida no alcanzo y estaba fria. La playa tenia piedras y el fondo era fangoso. Segun nuestra experiencia no recomendamos ni el hotel, ni la excursion.

We enjoyed the beach, the pool, and the bartenders. The room cleaning staff was a disappointment. When we arrived there was no toilet paper, we called the office and no one brought it. We finally had to go out and find someone and get paper from them. This was prettt par for the course of the trip when it came to towels and room refreshments.

Beach had a lot of seaweed the pool was great, Food was horrible customer service was not great, they didn’t explain much when we first got here. Got my towels stolen in two separate days, got locked out my room and my bracelet card wasn’t working for “technical” issues. Tried to eat outside the resort because I couldn’t stand the food another day and when I order a ride the ride couldn’t go through because of security. I’ve gone here 4 times and the first 3 I loved it this time it was embarrassing to take my partner here especially after hyping it up in the past.

I rarely write reviews, but my recent stay at Barceló Bávaro left me extremely disappointed. I came in with high expectations, but the experience fell far short—enough to make me reconsider ever returning to the Dominican Republic. The biggest issue was the restaurant reservation system. Available times were extremely limited, and even with a reservation, we regularly waited up to 2 hours to be seated. That is completely unacceptable at an all-inclusive resort. There’s clearly poor coordination and overbooking going on, and guests end up paying the price. The front desk was no better—long, slow-moving lines and unhelpful staff made even the simplest requests frustrating. When a power outage occurred, there was no clear communication, just more waiting and confusion. To top it off, I had a family emergency and had to leave a day early. I explained the situation, but the resort still insisted on charging me for the final night, showing zero flexibility or empathy. This was supposed to be a relaxing getaway, but it became a source of stress. I had hoped to revisit the DR in the future, but this experience has truly discouraged me. A beautiful location doesn’t excuse poor service, disorganization, and a lack of basic hospitality. I expected much better from a resort with this reputation. I hope management takes this feedback seriously—for the sake of future guests.

Clean staff good. I have stayed there 12 yrs ago. Has kept up pretty good. I just didn't know I had to pay for serval things due Expedia selling the wrong plan I guess. Been to Punta Cana 8 times now and never had to pay to eat at restaurants and room service
