"Comfortable resort, good experience"
Our stay with another couple was a week spent relaxing on the beach and at the pool. We had a minor issue at check in but it was resolved quickly and adequately. We ate at 3 of the ala carte restaurants they were nice but not outstanding. We had great service by Juan Molina and Randy on our last day at the buffet on the Bavaro side. They had a special anniversary breakfast table prepared for all of us; which was a very nice touch. We also enjoyed Simeon our daytime bartender at Los Olas. He was very accommodating and attentive to all our requests. Overall we enjoyed our week.

"We did not want to leave!"
We just returned from a week at Ambar Blue. My husband and I traveled with my parents and my sister and brother-in-law to celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary and our parent's 50th anniversary as well as 2 birthdays. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like family. Our butler, Miguel was AMAZING! He went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed, including champagne and a special cakes in our rooms. He decorated my husband's room for his 40th birthday too. Miguel had a few days off during our vacation, but he left us in the very capable hands of Alexander who also provided incredible service for our family. If you do not take advantage of the butler service, you are missing out. Miguel and Alexander made everything so easy, from making dinner reservations to getting someone to our room to repair a few items and my parent's room to fix their safe within minutes. Alexander even found my mom and escorted her to the spa for a massage while all of us were out on a zipline tour. When she arrived back to her room following the massage, Miguel was there to offer to help her get a chair on the beach or at the pool. These two men made our trip amazing and deserve many thanks. You MUST request them! The food at the buffet was hit or miss. We loved the Japanese restaurant. We would've loved to eat there more than once. The bars were always very accommodating and the staff were exceptional! We were more than satisfied with the maid service. Our refriger

"Great Time !!!"
Our stay was early July 2013. The weather was magnificent "perfect". The staff also was great, willing to help at any time , very friendly. The resort is so so relaxing with it's beautiful gardens and decors. The food was excelent and the service also. This is an all inclusive resort, and there is no limit on what you want to drink and eat. The beach was wonderful with a manmade reef about 50 yards from shore. Take some bread from the restaurant and your camera and enjoy.......If you know how, tipping will get you some extras at the restaurants and bars ( don't go tip crazy). There is a crepe shop near the beach with a bar, this was our favorite. The shows at the theater every night were fun and entertaining. There is an activity going on almost all the time, music dance lessons, zumba lessons, cardio workout by the pool, always something to have fun! The whole enviroment of the resort was great. There are many many things to do there, from sports to absolutly nothing. If you go with a group of friends will add to your stay. Would I go back? OH YEAH !!

"Family holiday travel "
My parents had just stayed here in October and they recommended it. They were right, family friendly, excellent staff, wonderful shows, lots of activities at the pool. The buffet was a variety and wonderful. The hibachi was well worth the reservation. Only thin would be to try to get in early. By the fifth day I was told I could book for the next day. Beaches beautiful, vendors aggressive, waves on beach fun for my kids and the breeze was great! Not too busy but full. The pool was full everyday. My kids had a blast at the kids play area. A great 13 days! Highly recommend for relaxation!

"Dreams La Romana is a wonderful place. "
My new wife and I spent our Honeymoon at the Dreams La Romana. We spent 8 full days and 8 nights. We booked through Travelocity. We arrived 3:30 PM Sunday and was greeted by wonderful staff. It was a bit overwhelming at first but they really do mean to take care of you and make you feel welcome. Aside from our room not being ready when it was supposed to everything else was excellent. The restaurants are great. Some simple with true Dominican food and other more elegant with a specific cuisine attached to it. They have a preferred section and a regular section. For the extra money I recommend the preferred section as the regular pools can become very crowded at times but bearable. The entertainment was amazing and always something to do from yoga, to water aerobics, volleyball, lounging on the beach, snorkeling, etc.The staff is the best part. Do yourself a favor and learn a bit of Spanish as they will appreciate it and it goes a long ways. And if not, still try to communicate with them. Do so with a smile on your face. They have huge hearts and are very welcoming so don't be rude and "expect" to be treated like kings just because you paid for it. And even small tips go a long ways. This place can be what you make it; quiet and quaint, or loud and energetic.Visit the Altos de Chavon when you go. You wont regret it! All this is coming from a couple that travels the Caribbean often and we must say this place rocks. The overall country is beautiful but rough but the people rock!

"Close to the beach"
Beautiful hotel, varied food. We went for 4 days to wait for the new year, every year we changed hotel. It was nice, but the attentions were not good. The check-in day we were dropped off at reception for 35 minutes unnecessarily, even though we arrived at 7pm. The VIP area (adults) is missing a lot. They never have the drinks they offer on the menu, they only had artificial lemon juice.. The employees at the VIP bar are very unpleasant. Only the receptionist Zuleyka is very nice. The VIP restaurant (acqua) should close 11am, always closed at 10:30 am. 30 minutes earlier than agreed.

"Beautiful place, amazing time"
I am not sure why some people have any complaints about this hotel, but I couldn't have asked for anything better. The food was great especially the steak house, the pools and beach were perfect, rooms were clean comfortable and the air conditioning worked great. Any thing we needed we had. Highly recommend this hotel and cannot wait to go back some day.

"Loved It"
We arrived at the airport at 9:30PM, December 30 2012. To transfer to the hotel we used Dominican Airport Transfer They charged us $45.00 for the van. We had group of 5 people and. Took us straight to the hotel in no time. We had our personal guide Susan meeting us along with the driver, we didn't expect anything like that, so it was a pleasant surprise. She accompanied us to the resort and also helped us to book couple tours and came to say "good buy" when we were leaving, as we used the same transportation method to get back to the airport. Very reliable and on time. Check in was fast and without any problems. We lived in the rooms 3301 and 3305, it is quite place as it is further away from all the commotion. Rooms were nice and clean. There is a bar in the rooms and soft drinks in the ridge, that got restocked every other day. There is safe, that worked just perfect and nothing got stolen from us. My teenage kids had IPODs, laptops, IPADS, you name it, everything came home safely. Lock you money, passports, electronics in the safe, it is big enough to fit it all. We were leaving small tips for the people we got to know- bartenders and maids and it would pay off, although you do not have to do it About food. We've been to a few resorts in Dominican Republic and Jamaica in the past and I can tell that food was very good. There are 4 restaurants on site, which you need to book. Hibachi and Mexican and Italian, but they are buffet style, but Steak House is full service restaurant and food was amazing. Also you have your regular buffet, that opened for breakfast, lunch and dinner, You would never go hungry It was pretty windy and the ocean was busy and noisy. We spent a lot of time on the ocean, "riding waives", some people brought small surf boards for kids and it was a lot of fun, like sledding in the winter Pool was very clean and swim up bar was busy starting at 11 AM, Entertainment Team was the best. We've been to a lot of resorts, and I can tell you, that those guys do everything possible to keep you entertained and busy since morning till night, they are the best- A+. From crazy games at the pool to archery, aerobics in the water and on the beach, latin dance lessons and nightly shows and dance afterwards, it is amazing, how those guys keep going. If you are looking for the fun- this is the right resort to book. If you have any questions, I will be glad to answer them, We had a lot of fun, it was hard to leave and looking forward to come back sometimes again
