We had a wonderful vacation, and the vast majority of it, was thanks to our Butler, Ernesto! He also, really went above and beyond to help my daughter's 21st birthday, special and memorable. Any reservations for dinner, recommendations for excursions, and anything in the welcome Diamond Package the hotel left out, he made sure we did receive. Ernesto had the best customer service experience one could offer. Very prompt with response and professional. Going into the buffet, the female staff at the front desk would argue our clothes were wet, even though they weren't, they said I couldn't enter with a red halter top swim piece and a high waisted red skirt cover up. Although it's a beach look that's appropriate for a buffet AT THE BEACH. The food itself was always the same IF, it was open and there was actually food in the trays and not empty. The Bella Cucina was the absolute worst, just don't go there. The Teppanyaki was the absolute best though!!! We actually went twice!! So fun and food was delicious!! If it wasn't for Ernesto, I probably would've rated the overall experience lower. A lot of the staff were really rude and unhappy looking. I would highly suggest stay at the sister resort on the same property, not Splash. Splash was so amazing for the water park though!! Our girls 13 and 11, and even us adults had so much fun!! No alcohol served in there, but it was definitely fun!! Overall one and done, but again thanks to Ernesto, we had a wonderful time!!

This was the worst resort my family and I have ever stayed at. The staff barely spoke English and were not interested in helping us at all. When we arrived in our room, the air conditioning read 85 degrees F. We turned the air on and hours later it didn't drop a single degree. We called the front desk and they said someone would come look. Over an hour later, nobody showed up, so we called again. Someone came out, pretended to "work", and told us that we had to "f-ing wait". That whole night and the next day the temperature in our room didn't drop a single degree. Our room was hot, humid, and full of mosquitoes. The bed sheets were dirty. There was an outlet with its cover ripped off the wall and wires hanging out. There was rust in the shower. The area where the buffet was had no air conditioning or even fans to keep the area/food cool. That can't be safe. We repeatedly asked for water and nobody brought any over. The service was terrible. We wound up booking another resort and leaving the following day.

The grounds looked lovely but we had issues with plumbing not working and we couldn’t use the toilets for a few hours on two occasions. The bathrooms by the Diamond pool were not very clean on numerous occasions. The butler Sidney was excellent as was the housekeeping, although they ran out of face cloths in my last two days. Some of the wait staff were not helpful- a few in the Selections buffet did not bring beverages until we were finished our meal, and another fellow in the Sports Bar largely ignored us… we asked for water, he brought one glass. We asked for cutlery and he brought 2 sets for 5 of us. We wanted to order dessert but he stood at the door talking to a coworker. We finally just left and didn’t tip. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay overall, a great vacation!

We just came back from 6 days stay at the Royalton Punta Cana. We really liked the several pools, drinks, and overall ambiance of this resort. We paid for Diamond Club which I highly recommend. Our butler was Daniel. He was excellent with all our requests. If we needed anything in our room and restaurants reservations were done in a breeze. I would highly recommend his professional, respectful and calm demeanor. We visited the Gym several times and had no issues. The buffet had a wide variety of food and we all liked their food. We did not get sick and the kids enjoyed the water park. My son loved the Pinas Coladas from the pool bar. I would stay next time at the Punta Cana section instead of the Splash section which needs to be renovated and the staff was not as pleasant as the Punta Cana section. Overall we will go back to the Royalton Punta Cana for our next family vacation.

I rate the resort a 10 out of 10, the service was excellent. The assigned "Butler" Edwin, was outstanding. He was very knowledgeable about the resort and was always available....Great Vacation!!!

Food was ok. Rooms were amazing. Butlers were great. Drinks were watery. Internet was good. Everything was good walking distance for the most part. Transport available if needed. Fun all white party. Music by the pool was good. Unfortunately not a good rating because MOST of the staff apart from the butlers, and guest services, were extremely dismissive unless if you offered them a tip or if you spoke their language which I do. They would barely acknowledge you at the pool bar and take a while to attend. And in the restaurants some were dismissive as though to make it known that they force to deal with you, not that they want to. But the staff in the entrance, the butlers and those attending to the poolside/beachside cabanas were amazing.

We just returned from our 12 day stay at Royalton Splash and we totally enjoyed every moment!! From our first day, we felt welcomed by the staff until our last, we felt like family. A huge thank you to the animation staff to the swim up pool bartender's, who took a shine to our bored 14 yr old, and made his day, just by watching Willy and CO. We loved the water park as well. We are not Diamond club members, but it did not stop our enjoyment. We ate at all the restaurants but the Japanese and the Steak house. My only advice is download the Royalton app, and book your reservations at 5pm for the next day. The only negative is our building concierge was a little pushy trying to get us anything by hiding it was in fact a time share meeting.

In the service area at the buffet, they didn't have the right staff to provide the best service. Additionally, the buffet variety wasn't very good, nor was the desserts. When it came to serving dessert, they didn't have spoons to eat it, and you had to use forks or the soup spoons. Reservations for restaurants through the app were problematic because the app only opened at 5:00 p.m., and even if you managed to get a reservation, the time I was able to choose was 9:00 p.m. because it always said they were full. The pool area wasn't properly maintained, and they didn't use the correct chemicals for cleaning. The water was always cloudy and contained fruit residue from the drinks people drank. The trolli system for getting around the resort was extremely poor, with long wait times.
